COO of PT Global Loket Sejahtera Bagus Utama revealed that he is focusing on strengthening Loket.com's position as a leader in the entertainment industry

Release (spin-off) PT Global Loket Sejahtera, which operates the GoTix service, from the GoTo Group is known to have been completed. This was confirmed by the COO of PT Global Loket Sejahtera Bagus Utama when contacted DailySocial.id.

Bagus was reluctant to provide further details spin-off This. He said that currently his party is focusing on completing its transition to becoming an independent company. One of them includes moving the movie ticket purchasing service on GoTix to the Loket.com platform.

From the information we gathered some time ago, the entities that operate the GoTo entertainment business line, namely GoPlay (PT Production Kreasi Anak Bangsa) and GoTix (PT Global Loket Sejahtera) have separated since August 2023. GoPlay has now changed its identity to Everywhere.id.

"We are returning to Loket.com's position as B2B ticketing solution for event creator, event organizer, or promoter. Going forward, [development of] solutions ticketing will be faced with many challenges. For this reason, we will focus on three things, namely solutions related to system stability, user data security, and experience spectators when they come to the event," explained Bagus.

PT Global Loket Sejahtera is the platform owner ticketing management service Loket.com, which offers ticket distribution, payment systems, gate management, to data analysis to event creator, event organizer, to promoters. Post acquisition Gojek of 2017, Loket.com is synergized with services mobile ticketing GoTix, which facilitates the purchase of film tickets, collaborates with cinema chains CGV and Cinepolis.

Unlike GoPlay which operates with a separate application, GoTix is known to be in-app service embedded in the application Gojek. Because of this situation too, GoPlay can perform rebranding.

Based on previous reports, GoTo refused to comment on the release of business lines in the entertainment sector as stated by GoTo CEO Patrick Walujo during his 1H23 Performance Earning Call presentation. However, GoTo had stated divestment plan non-core assets so they can focus more on pursuing profitability.

Achieve profits

Furthermore, Bagus highlighted several important notes regarding the future of Loket.com. First, his party gave a signal to scale up to new markets, but he could not provide a deeper explanation. Second, he said that Loket.com had achieved the highest growth since it was first established.

This growth was triggered by increased activity offline post-pandemic which has encouraged an explosion in organizing events, especially concerts/music festivals. One of the big music concerts whose ticket sales are handled by Loket.com this year is the British rock band Coldplay.

"During the pandemic, nothing event at all. In 2022, [event] starts take off even though it only felt like it was one semester. Licensing event only given in May and after. This explosion in the world of entertainment brought us to a significant achievement compared to last year, namely to the level profits," he said.

He admitted that he was optimistic about the potential for future growth in the entertainment industry because the purchasing power of Indonesian people is still high. "When referring to Ticket Master and the platform ticketing in other global sectors, growth could reach 26% annually. "I hope this will be a good momentum for Indonesia to have a strong position like neighboring countries."

Asked about the potential for raising new funds, Bagus said that currently he still relies on internal funds. However, there is the potential to open up to investors and strategic partnerships that still revolve around the entertainment ecosystem, for example promoters and EOs. This partnership opportunity is a strategy to strengthen Loket.com's position as a market leader.
