GoPlay Changes Identity to Everywhere.id

DailySocial.id spoke with Everywhere.id CEO Edy Sulistyo regarding the release of the GoPlay entity from GOTO to the introduction of its newest product

GoPlay introduces Everywhere.id as its new identity, replacing its current brand name. This identity marks GoPlay's first step as an independent company after releasing its ownership from its parent company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (IDX: GOTO).

"From the start, our vision has not changed. We want to supports content creators in Indonesia, helping him get more stages and increase their income. Brand "Everywhere.id will further strengthen our position [in the creative industry]," said the CEO of Everywhere.id Edy Sulistyo in an interview with DailySocial.id.

Edy also introduced Everywhere.id as his newest product to replace video-on-demand which has been the company's business axis. Everywhere.id offers live stage in an O2O2O manner (online to offline to online) for creators and business owners in the Horeka segment. Meanwhile, Edy said that GoPlay had left the business video-on-demand since several years ago.

For context, some time ago GoTo CEO Patrick Walujo stated that he would divest his business in the entertainment sector. "We are in the process of exiting the entertainment business because it is no longer the core of our strategy, and we will continue to look for opportunities to divest other non-core assets," said Patrick in a copy of the 2Q23 Earnings Call on Tuesday (15/8).

GoTo has an entertainment business line consisting of platforms on-demand streaming GoPlay under entity PT Production Kreasi Anak Bangsa, as well as platforms ticketing management service Go-Tix under the PT Global Loket Sejahtera entity.

Based on the information we have gathered, it is known that GoPlay and Go-Tix will no longer be under the GoTo Group since August 2023. DailySocial.id tried to confirm this to GoTo management, but it refused to comment. Edy told how the Covid-19 pandemic had a positive impact on the behavior of Indonesian people, both in producing and consuming content. However, he said, new challenges have emerged along with the return of outdoor activities. A number of creators in the regions find it difficult to find work due to geographical limitations. Pain points we clear, helping them get on stage," said Edy.

Seeing these challenges, the idea emerged to develop a technology that allows creators, such as singers, musical instrument players, and sports instructors, to perform live. real-time with the O2O2O concept. "How can we make creators appear everywhere online and offline without being limited by geographical conditions," he said.

The output is twofold; PlayOS operating system and device playbox to display impressions from the creator. Edy explained, PlayOS is an operating system that was developed by himself, using engine default to the GoPlay platform and modified again. PlayOS can be installed on various other devices with varying screen sizes, such as TVs or projectors.
