BeliMobilGue Announces Acquired Investment of 429 Billion Rupiah and Appointment of Johnny Widodo as CEO

The used car buying and selling platform, BeliMobilGue, appointed Johnny Widodo as their new CEO replacing Rolf Monteiro. From this assignment, Johnny is determined to boost the company's transaction volume to get the title of the number one used car buying and selling platform in Indonesia.

Johnny previously served as director of OVO. During his career there, he fairly successful bringing OVO as one of the leaders in the digital payment market in Indonesia. Meanwhile, in the used car business, Johnny views that no single player has dominated the market.

"It means that no player is currently number one," said Johnny.

The huge market potential is also a consideration for Johnny to join BeliMobilGue. Data from Gaikindo shows sales of new cars in 2018 reached 1,15 million units, while for used cars Johnny estimates that there are 3,5 million units of used cars being traded.

"With this partnership with FCG (Frontier Car Group) and OLX I really believe we can dominate market' said Johnny.

On this occasion, BeliMobilGue also announced that they had just received an investment of US$30 million (equivalent to 429,5 billion Rupiah) from FCG for the next two years. This injection of funds deepened their capital, at the beginning of this year got series A pendanaan funding worth US$10 million.

The BeliMobilGue lokamarket service focuses on making it easier for consumers to sell used cars on their platform, starting from online valuations, checking the condition of cars, to selling cars. The BeliMobilGue platform can do all of these processes in an hour.

Since operating in April 2017, BuyMyCar currently claims to have more than 10.000 consumers, 1.000 more dealers, 51 car inspection locations in 4 cities, with a 20-fold increase in business value growth since its inception.

However, Johnny does not want to share the BeliMobilGue monetization plan. He said his party would first focus on boosting transaction volume.

"My hope is that in the next 2-3 years we will have good traction and can become the main choice in selling cars," concluded Johnny.
