Get to know BiteShip Logistics Startup, Start with Pivot Then Profit

The BiteShip team claims to have made a profit in their first year running

BiteShip, a platform that integrates a number of logistics services, claims to have made a profit at the age of one year. Often referred to as an aggregator service, BiteShip is pivot from service Noompang, service application nebeng. Decided to change direction after seeing the logistics business trend bringing positive things to their business.

The BiteShip business model was first discovered when the Noompang team launched Noompang Coolinary. From there they had a lot of contact with logistics services and encountered problems when it came to delivering food from one city to another within a few hours. Seeing the potential of the logistics sector, they finally decided to build BiteShip.

"When we were working on Noompang Coolinary, we saw the logistics sector we were working on was growing and becoming more exciting to explore further. Coincidentally at that time one of my partners had a problem in the supply chain that needed to be resolved, we became interested in the B2B business model and so it's called Biteship," explained CMO BiteShip Afra Sausan.

Simply put, the BiteShip service works by integrating several logistics providers into one place. Several delivery providers such as JNE, Wahana, GoSend, Paxel, SiCepat, J&T Express, Tiki, Deliveree, FedEx, Anteraja, Grab, JetExpress, SAP, Lion Parcel, Qrim, Pos Indonesia, and RPX are already available on their platform.

Claim profit from capital bootstrap

The logistics business is currently on an upswing. Even though there is a pandemic, the activity of sending goods does not seem to decrease. As a logistics aggregator service, Biteship is not the only one. In this segment there are also Shipper which in the past 6 months has been quite aggressive execute their plans.

The potential of the logistics service segment can also be seen from several services that have received funding in the past year. There are Cargo, Triplog, Ritase, Waresix, Logisly, Shipper, Finfleet, and Waresix. Although they have different approaches and business models. All of these services are in the logistics sector.

Currently, Afra claims to have succeeded in getting profit from the independent operational capital they run. Their three products are Biteship Lite (mobile apps), Biteship Web, and Biteship for Business are said to be well received by their users.

Most recently, BiteShip also provides services fulfillment. So that customers can get storage, packaging and shipping services at the same time. This is one of the services that complement their ecosystem, according to its tagline, "Becoming a logistics service E-commerce for SMEs in Southeast Asia".

"The essence of Biteship is to make it easy for our clients to order various couriers on one platform and also for free pick up without any minimum order. Biteship is also done go to platforms for para developer who want to develop their website using the technology available from Biteship because it is simpler and more concise," explained Afra explaining the advantages of BiteShip.

For now, BiteShip is still reluctant to share their achievements. It's just that Afra explained that they get 40% to 50% growth every month.

"We plan to bring Biteship in several other countries, starting with SEA. Because we see that Biteship with the solutions it offers can help businesses not only in Indonesia but also in other countries. Incidentally, we currently have 4 customers in SEA (other than Indonesia)," concluded Afra.
