Earlier this year service Telkomsel MyAds is integrated into the GoBiz business partner app

After announcing the investment worth $150 million last November 2020 to decacorn Gojek, Telkomsel plans to re-inject funds worth $300 million or equivalent to 4,3 trillion Rupiah. This was conveyed directly by the President Director Setyanto Hantoro as reported Reuters.

He said the company had indeed planned to invest up to $450 million in Gojek; and will be completed within one year of its initial investment. It is said that the provision of new funds could be faster, especially Setyanto assesses that the collaboration between the two companies in early 2021 had a positive impact.

One of strategic cooperation formed earlier this year is the integration of digital advertising services Telkomsel specifically for business partners in the ecosystem Gojek. Service Telkomsel MyAds can be accessed through the GoBiz application, opening up opportunities for business partners to expand their business by reaching more new customers.

Previously the company also worked together to bring in 20 thousand partners seller Telkomsel to gain access on GoShop. Besides that, Telkomsel also supports the productivity of driver partners Gojek through Self-Help Packages with prices starting from IDR 25.

On the other hand, Gojek also give strategic investment to LinkAja which led to the integration of the digital payment service as an option in the application. As is known, the forerunner of LinkAja is a Tcash digital wallet service developed by Telkomsel.

Investment plan Telkomsel is in the middle of maturation efforts to merge Gojek with Tokopedia. If you look at it from a business collaboration point of view, later with GoTo (joint unit Gojek-Tokopedia) of course there will be more and more synergy options and service integration that can be done – bearing in mind that the platform's capabilities will increase with entry online marketplace the largest locale. This could also be the final round of funding at Gojek before eventually becoming GoTo.
