Telkomsel Ventures Looking for 6 New Startups for TINC Accelerator Program This Year

Focus on early stage startups (maximum series A) with consumer solutions, data, SaaS, B2B services, to fintech

Telkomsel Ventures, corporate venture capital belongs to Telkomsel, again held an accelerator program Telkomsel Innovation Center (TINC) Batch 9. This time they attracted startup accelerator and venture capital based in Taiwan, AppWorks.

AppWorks has run its accelerator program since 2010, recruiting more than 800 startups to work with large companies, including Taiwan Mobile and Wistron.

AppWorks recipes are replicated to help Telkomsel Ventures uncovers new ideas in the digital economy to support its business partners and customers, while creating value for local startups and driving the next level of development for Indonesia's telecommunications industry.

Here are the details about TINC Batch 9:

  1. Looking for 5 to 6 early stage to series A startups focused on Indonesia.
  2. Participants are required to have a clear value proposition Telkomsel, with an emphasis on consumer solutions, data (AI, data analytics, and cybersecurity), SaaS/enterprise, B2B servicesand fintech.
  3. Startups that already have a portfolio of collaborations with other companies or have proof-of-concepts would be preferable.
  4. Will get access to the ecosystem Telkomsel, paired directly with business units Telkomsel. During the program, both parties will explore integration opportunities so that their products and services can enter the ecosystem Telkomsel.
  5. Founder will get lifetime access to the AppWorks ecosystem, including more than 1.600 founders and 100 founder-mentor experienced throughout Southeast Asia. As well as being invited to participate in AppWorks regional demo days in Taiwan and Singapore to gain additional exposure to potential investors.
  6. Throughout the program, startups will take part in a series of activities and events designed to improve company competency, expand networks, and build synergy with Telkomsel, among others: mentoring and working hours, in-depth study of topics, subject sharing, community events, and more.
  7. Batch 9 will end with a Demo Day event, held in October. Participating startups will introduce their companies to a select group of investors and potential business partners.

We also hope to see startups in batch this can create attractive value and synergies with business units Telkomsel, fostering mutually beneficial relationships that drive innovation and elevate the industry as a whole,” said the CEO Telkomsel Ventures Mia Melinda in an official statement, Wednesday (6/3).

AppWorks was founded by Chairman & Partner Jamie Lin, who also serves as CEO of Taiwan Mobile. Through his role at Taiwan Mobile, Jamie serves on the Board of Directors of Bridge Alliance, the leading mobile alliance in Asia Pacific, where Telkomsel also become a member.

As a result, AppWorks has built the capability to work with telecommunications companies to support their needs in the digital economy, culminating in the company's partnership with Telkomsel Ventures for TINC.

Launched in 2018, TINC is a corporate accelerator program Telkomsel. Through the accelerator program, TINC collaborates with dynamic startups in Indonesia, leveraging the ecosystem, assets and expertise Telkomsel to encourage innovation. This cost-free and equity program is designed to support close collaboration between Telkomsel and synergistic startups.

A total of 34 startups have joined the eight batch Previously, the total number of registrations received was more than 1.500 startups. These participants come from 10 business verticals, including marketplace, edtech, SaaS & PaaS, IoT, and others.

It was recorded that 20 startup participants already had mature products that were ready to be commercialized. Then, as many as 28 collaborative projects were carried out with the digital ecosystem Telkomsel and 9 startups that meet the qualifications are included in the portfolio Telkomsel Ventures (formerly known as Telkomsel Innovation Partners).
