Yippy Platform Introduces "Gifting as a Service" Targeting B2B Segment

In its debut, Yippy received pre-seed funding from the Iterative accelerator program

The pandemic has sparked the birth of a trend working remotely, which does not require employees to be present in the office for work. These changes indirectly affect the work system in a company. One of the company's efforts to maintain the productivity and loyalty of employees is giving gifts or corporate gifts.

In Indonesia itself, this culture of giving gifts has been going on for a long time. However, the process is still very manual. Starting from planning gifts, collecting data, to sending it takes a long time. Gifting as a service is a solution that aims to manage the distribution of gifts in a company both internally and externally.

Yippy.id is one of the services that offer services corporate gifts to facilitate the company in distributing gifts to internal employees and clients outside the company. Yippy provides the platform end-to-end with complete features that control starting from product selection, the packaging, logistics, to process tracking.

Starting from the experience of being a prize recipient at a previous company, Founder & CEO of Yippy Ananda Amelita saw that the process gifting in the company is still very manual. In addition, he also found a survey which showed that more than 50% of employees did not appreciate the gifts given by the company.

From there, he started thinking about how to digitize the gift-giving process to make it more efficient, and to enable more effective results for both parties, both the sender and the recipient. The value proposition that Yippy offers through corporate gifts it lies in personalization. Indeed, the recipients of the prize deserve to get a choice

By using the Yippy.id platform, the sender will be provided with a variety of recommendations for gift choices that can be personalized according to the preferences of the sender and recipient. In addition, recipient data collection is also carried out automatically to speed up the process gifting. This platform also allows integration for more efficient processes within the enterprise ecosystem.

From the recipient's side, they will get a link to choose for themselves which gift suits their current needs. Through this link, they can fill in the latest data to continue the process. After that, the recipient just has to wait for the package to arrive at the destination address.

In providing a choice of prizes on its platform, Yippy works with local MSMEs to offer more than 700 items for prize recipients to choose from. From the logistics side, the company has also partnered with leading logistics companies in the country to ensure proper and fast package delivery.

Yippy started operations from January 2022. Currently, the company has secured external funding pre seed from the accelerator program from Singapore, Iterative. Previously, the company had also participated in the accelerator program from Antler. Here, Ananda met with co-founder-new, Welly Huang.

Future opportunities and targets

In 2021, Coresight Research conducted a survey with GiftNow of 300 corporate gift buyers in the United States. The results show that almost 50% of businesses intend to increase the frequency of giving gifts post-Covid-19. Globally, industry corporate gifts is projected to grow by $64 billion over the next few years, reaching $306 billion by 2024.

In general, corporate gifts referred to as a way to strengthen the company's relationship with employees or customers. However, the challenge still exists in terms of market education. As one of the pioneers, Yippy admits that there are no direct competitors that offer services similar to them. Even so, many companies still entrust business gifting on specific vendors.

Regarding the target market, the woman who is often called Nanda revealed that currently her market is companies that have a budget for gift giving. However, his team believes that eventually, all companies will increasingly care about the well-being of their employees and demand services corporate gifts this.

Until now, Yippy has helped a number of companies to manage gift giving through various activities. Some names that have utilized Yippy.id solutions include Pinhome, Zen Rooms, Telkomsel Innovation Partners (TMI), Bukuwarung, Ula, and others.

Going forward, Yippy said that he is planning to raise funds but his party has not been able to reveal the funding target. Currently, it is still focused on expanding demand and reproduce use case. Apart from that, the team also plans to add to the list of selected products on their platform.
