The High Demand for Logistics in the Domestic Market Helps Logisly Keep Growing During the Pandemic

Already have 40 thousand trucks joined on the platform

Few sectors have not been hit hard by the Covid-19 outbreak. Logistics is clearly one of the hardest-hit sectors, especially at the start of the pandemic. However, it is also logistics that may adapt relatively quickly to this situation. logically is one of them.

In Logisly's case, one of the declining markets was in the export-import segment. The decline in the volume of export-import transactions during the pandemic has a direct impact on truck demand. However, according to Co-Founder & CEO of Logisly Roolin Njotosetiadi, this situation can be patched with growth in the domestic market.

Some markets whose logistics needs continue to increase during the pandemic and are served by Logisly are pharmaceuticals, FMCG, telecommunications, and food assistance from the government. According to Roolin, these four are sectors that allow Logisly to continue to grow during the pandemic.

"Logically, fortunately, it's not experiencing a decline at the moment, but instead continues to grow because we have managed to penetrate shippers that continue to move," said Roolin.

As is well known, a number of sectors have indeed grown faster since the Corona outbreak hit the whole world. The second quarter of this year's state financial report noted that the telecommunications, pharmaceutical, health services, and agriculture industries achieved positive scores. This achievement automatically becomes the remaining wheels in moving the country's economy which is very sluggish due to the ongoing pandemic.

Investor interest is still high

Deputy Secretary General of Amvesindo Andreas Surya also saw a positive trend in the logistics industry despite being surrounded by the effects of the pandemic. Although the growth is not as strong as other industries, Andreas said the steady interest of investors in the digital sector, especially in foodtech, fintechand software as a service (SaaS) is room for growth for players logistics tech like Logically.

"Investor interest is still fairly high, because in Indonesia the need for logistics is still quite high. In the last nine months all business models have received funding in logistics. Why is it still quite high because the needs are basic in Indonesia," explained Andreas.

What Andreas said was true. Success announcement startups in the logistics sector to get new funding keep popping up the last few months in the midst of the brunt of the pandemic. Roolin also admits, Logisly is one of the lucky startups to pocket a new capital disbursement. Last Logisly announced that it acquired initial funding in August last year.

"We haven't fully announced, will wait for further news," added Roolin.

Currently, Logistics has 40 thousand trucks registered on their platform. With new funding and growing business, Roolin did not rule out the possibility that it would expand its business services, such as to warehousing if the demand for it is available. But for now he emphasized that Logisly is still focused on service truck forwarding they.
