Blue-Collar Staffing Platform Development Startup MyRobin Acquired BetterPlace

Being part of BetterPlace's efforts to accelerate expansion in Asia Pacific

Launched last 2020, a platform that provides services job marketplaceon-demand for blue collar workers MyRobin has officially been acquired by BetterPlace.

India-based BetterPlace is known as a SaaS platform for workforce provisioning Frontline aka unskilled labor (blue collar). It is not stated further how much the investment value of this acquisition process issued by BetterPlace. This acquisition places BetterPlace as the majority shareholder of MyRobin.

This acquisition is part of a series of investments made by BetterPlace to expand into the Southeast Asian market. In the near future, the company also plans to expand to Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines through organic and inorganic strategies. BetterPlace recently raised $40 million as part of its Series C round.

To DailySocial.id, MyRobin Co-founder & CTO Ardy Satria Hasanuddin revealed that the exploration of this acquisition process had been carried out since the last two years. Furthermore, MyRobin continued to run the business independently and did not make any changes in management.

Currently MyRobin has around 160 employees and claims to have around 3 million workers in around 270 cities in Indonesia. The company has also recorded 7x growth in 2022 and directly impacted 44.000 families in the last 2 years

"As the next chapter of our growth, we want to take our vision and expertise to more geographic areas and BetterPlace is the perfect partner that will enable us to achieve this goal. We are happy and excited to be a part of BetterPlace and aspire to be a tool in achieving our common goal of creating a better place for companies and workers Frontline around the world," said Ardy.

Previously MyRobin has received fresh funding from a number of investors, including Antler, SOSV, Accion Venture Lab, and Investible. The rounds of funding that have been obtained so far have put MyRobin in the pipeline Pre-Series A what they got in 2021.

MyRobin positive growth

Despite being a region with high digital adoption rates, the frontline workforce or Frontline in Southeast Asia is still not experiencing a significant digital transformation. Many companies still use fragmented solutions and utilize vendors to manage their blue-collar workforce, so productivity is not optimal.

Platforms like MyRobin are now relevant and needed by blue collar workers to be able to get the right job. In addition to providing job opportunities, the platform also provides the right education and training to users who are members. MyRobin provides on-demand, pre-screened for workers Frontline in the long and short term for companies in Indonesia.
