D-Laundry Expands Business Model, Now Presents POS Service

Through their parent, DROP, they want to be an integrated service platform for the laundry business ecosystem

Since its debut in 2016, PT Drop Global Tech (DROP) through D-Laundry remain consistent as a platform for services on-demand laundry in Jabodetabek. Entering 2022, they decided to make a business transformation.

To DailySocial.id, Drop Global Tech CEO Ridhwan Basalamah said this transformation was carried out by the company after getting interesting data from research they did internally. As a platform that supports the owner's business laundry, D-Laundry also develops services that are relevant and needed by partners.

"Currently we see the industrial needs laundry for B2C is getting bigger. If we used to only focus on online and by on-demand, now we are starting to attend online offline with a wider service area and a national presence," said Ridhwan.

Currently, D-Laundry has around 400 partners and thousands of customers spread across several major cities in Indonesia. To accelerate business growth, the company also has plans to raise funds in the second half of this year. Previously the company had completed the round early stage funding last year 2021.

Develop POS and subscription options

With the launch of D-Laundry Merchant, the new face of the D-Laundry Partner application which is now equipped with management features laundry which include cashier (POS) features, production management, financial and accounting records, employee management, insight business, accept digital payments, digital notes, and various other features.

Unlike POS for the F&B industry, POS for business laundry has significant uniqueness. Starting from the payment tempo that can be at the beginning of the service and also at the end, adjusting the customer's wishes to recording or bookkeeping.

Companies are also changing their monetization strategy. Who originally shared the commission with the owner laundry most of whom are MSMEs, now they provide a subscription option. So the owner laundry can determine for themselves the options they want to offer customers, such as pick-up and drop-off options and others.

"We also offer internal management that owners can use laundry to monitor employee performance which will affect the payment or salary of their employees accurately, adjusting their respective workloads," said Ridhwan.

The company has also provided digital payment options to their partners. The hope is to expedite the payment process between customers and partners laundry. Collaborating with payment gateways that have been registered in Indonesia.

"Previously we already had a license from the relevant regulator to provide this option, but due to the changes we chose to establish a strategic collaboration with the payment gateway platform," said Ridhwan.

In addition to launching the D-Laundry Merchant Application, DROP is also preparing a new version of the D-Laundry Marketplace Application for customers and the Laundry Franchise. The Laundry Franchise, which is a business development of Swash Clean Laundry managed by DROP itself, will provide several level options based on the completeness of the services provided. Program franchise This is expected to target young entrepreneurs who want to invest in the industry laundry.

In 2015 there were many platforms popping up on-demand laundry similar to that offered by D-Laundry. But not many of them survive and develop into technology companies like D-Laundry. According to Ridhwan, their focus from the start was marketplace and choosing to work with MSME business owners, is the key to their success in being able to survive since 2016, even during the pandemic.

"Most other platforms focus on the concept E-commerce and just want to grow brand themselves. So it is difficult for SMEs to be recognized and developed. In terms of price we also free it to the owner laundry to determine for themselves," said Ridhwan.

Now DROP wants to be a platform that provides services laundry in an integrated manner. Starting from the system, consulting and opportunities for new entrepreneurs who are interested in owning a business laundry. In the future the company also wants to develop IoT technology into their system.
