Alodokter Reportedly Receives Funding from HL Mando and Beacon Venture Capital

Alodokter has achieved profitability since 2023, telemedicine contributes 40% to business revenue

Startups healthtech Alodokter is reported to have received funding from HL Mando and Beacon Venture Capital. According to data submitted to the regulator, as quoted from Alternative.pe, the amount disbursed reached $5,2 million or the equivalent of IDR 81,7 billion.

When confirmed by DailySocial.id, The company is still reluctant to provide further confirmation regarding this funding.

Beacon Venture Capital is a venture unit under Kasikornbank, Thailand. With funds under management of up to $255 million, they have invested in a number of Southeast Asian startups such as Carro, Grab, Nium, Zenius, Workmate, and several others. Meanwhile, HL Mando is an automotive company based in South Korea, which has recently been actively investing in technology startups.

Starting from telemedicine services and doctor's appointments, Alodokter has now become a comprehensive digital platform for health services. Apart from health education services, they now also have a pharmacy online Aloshop and services insurtech Aloprotection --- for insurtech in collaboration with Sequis and Cermati.

From a previous interview with Co-Founder & President Director of Alodokter Suci Arumsari, it is said that since 2023 the company will start to gain profits. So he is determined to set a bigger profitability target in 2024.

According to Suci, one of the drivers of Alodokter's profitability and important value proposition is the connection of services to one another to form an integrated digital health ecosystem. The revenue contribution from the telemedicine business is said to reach 30% -40% per month. Then the rest comes from making consultation appointments, Aloshop, Aloprotection, and advertising content marketing.

Finally, Alodokter announced an investment of an undisclosed amount from Marubeni Corporation. At the same time, the company also acquired the investor's subsidiary, Diary Bunda, a pregnancy monitoring application. Other investors who also support Alodokter are MDI Ventures, Samsung Ventures, Sequis, Golden Gate Ventures, Heritas, and Hera Capital.

In landscape healthtech, Alodokter competes directly with a number of players, the two largest being Halodoc and Good Doctor Indonesia.
