SweetEscape and SurveySensum Tips to Keep Business Pace During a Pandemic

Technology has changed the habits and lifestyle of many people. Not only helps them cut time, but also provides a new experience when accessing products and services online online. The pandemic that came since 2020 has also accelerated the education and adoption of technology to many people. And it has directly facilitated the work to the teaching and learning process for all.

In this #TuesdayStartup session, we discussed the importance of technology in supporting startup growth, with SweetEscape Co-Founder & CEO David Soong and Tanuj Diwan, Co-founder & Head of Product SurveySensum.

Pandemic and innovation

As a platform that has focused on the B2C segment, SweetEscape, online marketplace photographer services, has a new service for businesses dubbed “Fotto”. This strategy was chosen in order to save the company's business that was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the demand for the travel industry fell by 90%. Through this new line, the company is able to continue to run its business, even though their main segment, namely B2C, is disrupted due to travel restrictions.

Previously, when offering services to the B2C segment, there was not much interaction with customers directly. Most customers directly contact the photographer selected in the platform. However, during the pandemic and with their new line of business targeting B2B, interactions with clients must also be carried out directly by the SweetEscape team.

Meanwhile for  SurveySensum which has been focusing on the B2B segment, at the beginning of the pandemic had experienced problems. The number of businessmen who cut budget and delaying their project, quite difficult for the SurveySensum team. However, now when conditions are getting better, businesses are returning to using the technology they have.

"Our goal is to utilize technology to solve problems and provide solutions. Starting with feedback we hope the client can take the next step based on Survey and feedback received," said Head of Product SurveySensum Tanuj Diwan.

Technology application

When it comes to technology, platforms like Sweet Escape claim not to apply too many complex technologies. Their function as a platform is basically to make it easy for customers to choose the right photographer, make reservations and make payments.

To manage all conversations in one platform, SweetEscape also developed its own chat messages internally and avoid using the platform chat app/messenger. As open market, SweetEscape also curates the best photographers that customers can take advantage of.

Meanwhile, as a platform that puts forward SurveySensum technology, it applies technology artificial intelligence (AI) within the platform. Thus it can automatically be categorized as a question or question feedback that comes in from the customer directly. This certainly makes it easier for companies to manage these inputs.

Through technology, SurveySensum wants to help startup founders who are not very tech savvy with education and processes that are flexible and of course easy to understand.
