Smartlink Wants to Modernize Laundry Entrepreneurs with Digital Governance

It has been used by more than 4 thousand laundry outlets in Java and Bali

Laundry services are often marginalized in the excitement of digitalization, even though the level of demand is always high in almost all levels of society. When monitored, so far the laundry services that have been digitized are only in the form of services on demand to make it easier for people to find the nearest service.

Another thing that has not been fully exploited in the laundry business is the management itself. This opportunity was used by Fredo Prima Yudha, Hery Kuswandy, Shidqon Alkaaf, and Iqbal Firmansyah to pioneering Smartlink starting in mid 2016.

To DailySocial, Yudha explained, Smartlink was established because there is no SaaS application that can manage the laundry business. “Actually there is an application for the laundry business, but it is only in the form of an application desktop with which does not provide fundamental solutions to laundry entrepreneurs," he said.

In other words, he continued, there is no application that provides services to manage the entire laundry business cycle, from incoming to outgoing goods. Because most of it is only in the cashier application section.

Yudha himself was previously a laundry business actor. Assisted by Heri who has the ability as software engineering, Smartlink began to be pioneered from the beginning in the form of web-based application until it became an app for Android in 2017.

"At that time the era had stepped into the era of Android applications and finally met co-founder others, Alkaaf and Iqbal whose background is also a software engineering. "

The Smartlink application was officially released in early 2018 with features that are still basic. Yudha said that at that time the company had run out of funds to develop applications for Android, but it was still forced to launch in conditions that were still a lot bugs.

"Finally, in mid-August 2018, we saw the growth of Smartlink consumers with a total of 400 outlets."

Smartlink's next business model and plans

Explained further, Smartlink has three application modules that are used by cashiers (Smartlink Kasir), production (Smartlink Production), and owner (Smartlink Boss) comes with different features. Smartlink Boss, for example, is in the form of a website used by business owners to organize and read laundry business activity reports.

Meanwhile, Smartlink Kasir is in the form of an application that is used by cashiers to carry out transaction operational activities at the cashier o. The features prepared for each focus module support four laundry activities, such as operations, financial management, business performance, and consumer management (CRM).

Yudha said, the business model used by Smartlink is subscription but based on usage, not by paying every month. Thus, every feature in Smartlink will besplitIf you don't want to use this feature, you don't have to pay.

The lowest fee paid by Smartlink users is a fee per transaction of IDR 100. “This very low cost is because our current goal is only to build Smartlink members and pursue operational targets. So so that o laundry can grow and we [Smartlink] can remain operational.”

Smartlink users are claimed to have crossed the 4 thousand mark o, which are scattered around Java and Bali. He plans to develop a new product, named Londi Locker in the form of an agency. This product will create lockers that are spread over several points and are managed by several vendors. These lockers help the laundry owner have additional transactions.

More Coverage:

“Consumers come to the locker, do a scan to put the items to be washed into the locker. Then the item will be picked up by the vendor and sent back by the vendor within 24 hours, later the consumer will pick it up himself to the locker and the Londi outlet. The locker is open for 24 hours.”

After Smartlink, Yudha plans to reposition his company to focus on service applications so that it doesn't just play in the laundry business. He also claimed that so far Smartlink still relies on its own funds to develop the company.

"We have never opened an investment and have never received funds from investors, so a pure business lives and develops from our business activities to where we are now," he concluded.
