The Side Gets Pre-Series A Funding Worth 21 Billion Rupiah

Sideline is an application that allows its users to take on light work on a part-time basis. Today (08/10) they announced the acquisition of pre-series A funding of $1,5 million or equivalent to 21,2 billion Rupiah, led by Golden Gate Ventures – venture capital which also provides early-stage funding.

Antler and some angel investors participate in this round. The sideline is also a graduate from the program generator startupAntler. The company will focus on the investment to expand its business operations.

Side Apps designed to connect businesses with freelancer. Some jobs such as providing reviews, surveys, sales agents, and others are accommodated through this application. Users who register as agents or workers can participate in each job and get credit (cash) which can be disbursed.

Airing since the end of 2018, currently Sampingan has been supported by 60 workers and is headquartered in Jakarta. They just have an application on the Android platform, however, they claim to have more than 150 thousand working partners.

The side was founded by three people founder, namely Wisnu Nugrahadi, Margana Mohamad, and Dimas Pramudya. All three are management graduates from Padjadjaran University. Wisnu and Dimas previously had experience in development and product teams at Gojek. While Margana owns and runs the business outsourcing.

Previously in a joint interview DailySocial and also to founder said the development of the service was inspired by the business model outsourcing who impose daily or monthly targets on workers. In the process of working, Sampingan uses an approach similar to that model, providing pay based on performance results (pay-per-performance).
