"The RoomMe platform helps boarding house owners standardize day-to-day operations to ensure transparency and reliability, from reservation management, processing check in/out, revenue management, scheduling house keeping, and more," said Glen.

RoomMe has also expanded the scope of its platform, digitally digitizing processes end-to-end. Users can now choose the rooms according to their wishes and book them through the site, application, to directly on the spot. Users will enjoy a complete digital experience, starting from the process check-in, stay extension, join the community, send requests/questions, Check-out, and provide unit reviews.

The startup, which has been established since 2015, was last interviewed DailySocial in November 2019, claimed to have accommodated 110 thousand boarding house owners in various cities in Indonesia with 8 million users. Similar to RoomMe, Mamikos also helps property owners to standardize their units.

Currently RoomMe has expanded its coverage area not only in Jabodetabek, but also in Karawang, Bandung, and Yogyakarta. Still have targets to achieve, the ongoing pandemic has hampered their plans and certainly affected businesses. However, the company still sees the positive side so that the business can continue to run.

"I think this pandemic situation has affected all businesses, some positive and some not. Fortunately for us, this situation has highlighted the need for improvement in service standards, as we have done over the last few years. We are seeing less growth in new tenants, but we experienced a spike in extended stays (stay extensions) and an increasing number of tenants wanting to stay longer," said Glen.
