Rawdemy Presents Online Classes for Children's Learning to Sharpen Cognitive Skills

Founded by Hendriko Firman (CEO) and Fatahul Akbar (CTO), Rawdemy is currently still focusing on working on the market around Jabodetabek

Released last September 2022, platform EdTech which focuses on cognitive skillsRawdemyPresent to provide new options for parents to educate and hone their children's hidden talents.

Founded by Hendriko Firman (CEO) and Fatahul Akbar (CTO), Rawdemy also has a mission to provide additional income to honorary teachers to instructors who have the ability to provide training and skills to children.

"Our specialty is to focus more on learning outside of school. Unlike the platform EdTech Others focus more on formal education. We want to encourage more teachers to teach extra-curricular activities to children online"Hendrik.

Utilise tools such as Zoom and Google Meet for class implementation, later parents who want to register their children can take advantage of the Rawdemy website. If you have found the appropriate class, you can proceed to the payment process. For one class, Rawdemy provides a choice of 1-5 children, aged 3 to 10 years. This is done so that when studying later, it can be easily understood and provide positive results for the child's progress.

This concept is claimed to be the flagship of Rawdemy, namely the teaching-learning process online directly, not using video on-demand. Currently, Rawdemy's focus is still gathering instructors or teachers who have art, design, sports and language skills.

"Our focus now is the Greater Jakarta area first. However, with the concept that we offer, it is possible that areas outside Jabodetabek can also use the Rawdemy platform," said Hendriko.

Rademy is still running the business bootstrap. Even though it has earned a small amount of income, the company is not aggressively raising funds. Their current focus is on collaborating with related institutions, increasing the number of teachers and awareness to parents and children. However, if you find the right investor, the opportunity remains open.

"Our focus from the start was on solving the problem at hand. Thus we also don't have budget which is a lot for other activities, different from other edtech platforms," said Hendriko.

In Indonesia itself, there are currently several platforms that specifically target children, but with a diverse focus on education. Starting from language classes for children Kiddo to Kalananti which is an educational center for children aged 5-12 years.

Improve the welfare of honorary teachers

Currently, most of the honorary teachers have small salaries. Children's teachers, especially those who teach in regional elementary schools, are around Rp. 1 million. Some even get only Rp. 300 thousand per month, or only Rp. 10.000 per day. This condition is quite sad, because in fact 20% of the government's budget is education.

One of the efforts to improve the welfare of honorary teachers is to have a side job. Through Rawdemy they can use it to provide skills lessons outside of the formal education they usually do every day. One of the reasons why Rawdemy is interested in partnering with honorary teachers is their background and ability to teach children lessons.

Before being able to become an instructor at Rawdemy, the company curated the prospective instructors, as well as evaluating the classes they would give to their children. If all of them meet the requirements of Rawdemy, they can freely open a class freely online.

"One of the reasons why class offline to learn guitar, language, and others are decreasing in number at this time is the amount of expenditure for each activity. By transferring the concept online, can help those who have dance studios or others by reaching more students studying in various regions," said Hendriko.

More Coverage:

Currently, the class that most parents choose for their child is language class. In the future, Rawdemy also wants to add classes for violin, drawing and other lessons especially for children.

The fees charged for each class session are IDR 45 thousand to IDR 100 thousand. Currently, there is only a bank transfer option for payment options. However, in the future, Rawdemy has plans to add other payment options. The commission distribution applied is 25% for Rawdemy and 75% for instructors.

"Since launching, we currently have around 52 instructors. The target is that in the fourth quarter of this year we can recruit around 4 instructors to join the platform," said Hendriko.
