JV Results with Ping An, Grab Inaugurate the Presence of Online Health Services

Grab inaugurate health services GrabHealth together with Good Doctor Technology Indonesia (a subsidiary of Ping An Good Doctor), at the same time marking Indonesia as the first market to enjoy this new service.

President Grab Indonesia's Ridzki Kramadibrata said, GrabHealth is one of the fruits of investment Softbank $2 billion announced in July 2019 for Indonesia. The company believes that using the right technology can bring positive benefits to society.

"We believe that everyone deserves to have access to quality and affordable healthcare. [..] We are excited to launch GrabHealth powered by Good Doctor as our first effort to provide online health services," he explained, Tuesday (10/12).

There are four features that are presented, including health questions and answers with doctors, making face-to-face consultations with doctors, shopping for health and fitness products (Health Mall), and health and lifestyle content curated by a team of doctors.

All of these features can be accessed free of charge, but are only available in Jabodetabek and will soon be rolled out to other cities within the operational scope Grab gradually. Mentioned Grab operates in 224 cities throughout Indonesia.

Head of Medical Management Good Doctor Technology Indonesia Adhiatma Gunawan admitted that the current features did not have a striking difference with similar players. However, in terms of convenience, users do not need to download a new application to enjoy Good Doctor.

"By holding Grab, so great convenience for the sides user because there is no need to download another application. We not only expand access, but also concern on quality and safety. Our quality standards and safety assurance are high and multi-layered," he said.

Nevertheless, he opens the possibility to release a separate application specifically for Good Doctor next year. "Possible somewhere in 2020 there are plans to go there [launch own app]."

Good Doctor will continue to develop the next feature to make it more relevant to the needs of the Indonesian people. Adhiatma did not rule out adopting technology from Ping An to Indonesia, or other things that could have a positive impact on society.

"We are always open to good things that we can adopt, not only from Ping An, but with other players. We continue to learn so that all the services we bring can have a positive impact on the people of Indonesia."

Adhiatma declined to elaborate further regarding the development of the next health service feature that Good Doctor will provide.

It is claimed that currently Good Doctor has partnered with hundreds of doctors for online consultation services 24 hours a day, partnering with more than 300 licensed pharmacy chains to sell health products.

All doctors who join have gone through strict requirements, have an active SIP (Practice License) and are officially registered as members of IDI (Indonesian Doctors Association) to be able to operate as medical consultants.
