Go-Car driver-partners can "rent" vehicles for a subscription fee

The Gofleet mobility solution that is carried Gojek and PT Astra International Tbk (Astra) are effectively operating from today. Gofleet targets to release 1000 cars to Go-Car drivers by the end of this year.

The inauguration of Gofleet's operations was held at the GIIAS event, BSD, Thursday (18/7), afternoon. Founder and CEO Gojek Nadiem Makarim and President Director of Astra Prijono Sugiarto also attended the event.

Gofleet President Director Meliza M. Rusli said that their product is intended for Go-Car driver-partners. Meliza claims that this service will make it easier for people who don't own a car to join Go-Car.

"Mobility solutions for driver partners who are members of Go-Car. We provide vehicles to all of our partners," said Meliza.

Consumers in joint ventures Gojek and Astra are Go-Car drivers. To get this car from Gofleet, Go-Car driver-partners pay a commitment fee of IDR 1,5 million when they first join. After that, they pay a subscription fee of IDR 1.180.000 every week.

Director of Gofleet Pandu Adi Laras explained that the participation of driver partners in this service can continue as long as they pay a subscription fee which will be billed daily.

"If he wants to continue his subscription, then he pays again," said Pandu.

The concept is similar to the scheme of drivers and taxi companies. With these costs, Gofleet guarantees car maintenance facilities, vehicle services, insurance, to the installation of LED screens for advertising space in the car.

"And the most important thing is that they can get access to additional income because the vehicles they bring now have LEDs, from their monetization they get money," added Pandu.
