Endeavor Indonesia Wants to Embrace More Startups in the Region

Appoint Arif P. Rachmat as the new chairman; and Co-CEO Gojek Andre Soelistyo as a board member

Has been present since 2012, the program Indonesian Endeavor which focuses on selecting and helping high impactentrepreneur technology-based already has several plans and targets that will be launched next year. They also just announced the succession with the entry of the 4 lineup board member new, one of them is the Co-CEO Gojek André Soelistyo.

In a virtual media meeting session, Arif P. Rachmat, who has just been appointed as Chairman of Endeavor Indonesia 2020, said that in 2021 it is hoped that this organization will be able to attract more startups, which are currently still relatively small. 'overlooked' and not much coveted by venture capital and accelerator programs.

"We want to find more startups that come from the regions, have unique backgrounds but have a big impact. It could be that those who come from the lower middle class and have concern for the environment will be our priority in the future."

So far Endeavor Indonesia has helped entrepreneur influential people accelerate their business growth by introducing them to local and global industry experts who become their mentors. Currently there are 73 mentors with 436 hours mentoring which has been dedicated. Endeavor Indonesia also provides comprehensive access to markets, capital and talent.

"This country needs more high impactentrepreneur because they can bring Indonesia into a developed country. President Jokowi stated that one of the requirements to become a developed country is the number of entrepreneur in the country reaches 14% of the population. And in Indonesia, the figure is only around 3%," said Arif.

Support mentoring during the program

One of the activities that is considered quite interesting and an advantage of Endeavor Indonesia is, mentoring given to startups during the program. One of the startups that graduated from Endeavor Indonesia is eFisheries.

According to the Co-Founder & CEO of eFishery, Gibran Huzaifah, not only had the opportunity to meet qualified mentors, but insight which is then obtained during participating in the program is, so that startups can dream big and have dreams to very big goals for their startups.

"During the program I also had the opportunity to build relationships with experienced startup activists. One example was my meeting with Aldi Haryopratomo from GoPay which finally brought eFishery has a strategic partnership with Gojek right now," said Gibran.

Gibran Huzaifah together with Christian Sutardi (Co-Founder, Fabelio) are two startups from Indonesia who were selected as Endeavor Entrepreneur of the Year 2020. This award was given based on their achievements, namely successfully bringing startups to experience positive development and successfully raising funds.

"Not only strengthening the skills and insights of startup founders, Endeavor Indonesia also has Endeavor Academy which aims to strengthen the team. We also have programs to strengthen each field, such as sales, HR and others. We also have legal assistance, especially for the currently hot issue, namely the omnibus law," said Endeavor Indonesia Managing Director Wayah Wiroto.
