Endeavor Indonesia to Hold Scale-Up Asia to Improve Entrepreneurial Ecosystem

Focus on developing "high impact entrepreneurship"

In an era like today, high impact entrepreneurship considered to be one of the solutions for job creation and economic growth in the midst of social turmoil and competition that is increasingly breaking down barriers. Holding on to the goal. Endeavor Indonesia, an organization that focuses on building and strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Indonesia, will host Scale Up Asia.

Asian Scale Up will be held on March 15, 2017 at the Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta. More than 800 business leaders, entrepreneur young and experienced, investors, practitioners and other key players participated in this event. Scale-Up Asia consists of Scale-Up Conference, Mega Scale-Up Clinic and cocktail dinners. Scale Up Asia also organizes the Mega Scale Up Clinic program, giving participants the opportunity to consult about business challenges with mentors and build networks with investors and business leaders.

Some of the Scale-Up Conference speakers that will be presented include Achmad Zaky (Founder & CEO of Bukalapak), Nadiem Makarim (Co-Founder & CEO of Go-Jek), Aldi Haryopratomo (Founder & CEO of Ruma), Markus Bihler (Co-Founder & CEO of Go-Jek). Vice Chairman of Happy Fresh), Suzy Hutomo (Executive Chairman of The Body Shop Indonesia) and many more.

"We believe that high impact entrepreneurs can create a conducive entrepreneurial cycle, which in the long term can contribute to Indonesia's sustainable economic development. Scale-Up Indonesia is here as a forum to build a stronger entrepreneurial ecosystem and support more high impact entrepreneurs," said Endeavor Indonesia's Board Chairman Harun Hajadi.

Based on the 2013 International Labor Organization (ILO) report, Indonesia must provide more than 17 million new jobs in the period 2013-2020. High-impact entrepreneurship can be the answer to this employment problem.

"High impact entrepreneur is a visionary who is able to generate the largest income, create high-value jobs and have the most impact significant for society. Especially with the existence of the ASEAN Economic Community (MEA), the existence of high impact entrepreneurs becomes more important, because Indonesia will become the liaison for the entrepreneurial ecosystem in ASEAN," added Harun.

In developing countries such as Indonesia, entrepreneur still facing various challenges in accelerating business, including the lack of role model, low investor confidence, limited quality management, inability to access capital, and lack of access to network. Through mentoring and a supportive ecosystem, Endeavor wants to help entrepreneur Indonesia faces these challenges so that it can accelerate its business.
