IDN Media recently launched the application "IDN App", aiming to increase content consumption for its own media platform. So far, the company has seen that a new way for people to consume news is that it is more personal, especially among millennials and Gen Z.

To DailySocial, Co-Founder & CEO IDN Media Winston Utomo revealed, UGC (user generated content) is an important feature of a medium. UGC can create more relevant content and hyperlocal for society. As long as the platform is able to implement filtering systematically (and using AI to be more accurate and fast), UGC can run well.

Winston also added that this new application is expected to be a platform for sharing information and knowledge for users. This is in line with IDN Media's vision to democratize information. Since the launch of the IDN App, the company claims to have experienced promising user growth and received positive responses.

Interesting features

IDN App is equipped with several interesting features for its users. There is a Topic feature, users can choose news topics according to their interests. Then there is also the Q&A feature, which allows users to write questions about topics of interest or answer questions from other users. At first glance, these two features are similar concept applied by Quora or forum online Kaskus style.

In addition, the application also has a Write Article feature that can be used by users who are interested in writing articles on IDN Media. Each successful user-generated article will earn points that can be exchanged for cash.
