Tera Logistics Bridges Exporters and Importers Find the Right Logistics Company

Rely on two main features, namely Quotation Bidding and Logistic Marketplace

Starting from the difficulty for new exporters and importers to find the right logistics company according to the type of cargo and the destination of the goods, this is the reason why Handoyo, Iman, and Leonardus set up a platform Tera Logistics.

"The three of us are alumni of the Prasetiya Mulya campus. Each of the founders has experience in exporting and importing goods from abroad and has difficulty finding a credible logistics company," said Co-Founder CEO Tera Logistics Handoyo Prasutiyo to DailySocial.

He added, every logistics company specializes in handling certain types of cargo and destination countries. Through the Tera Logistics platform, exporters and importers can classify logistics companies in minutes.

Until now Tera has had 7 thousand users per month and the number of registered partners is more than 680 freight forwarder, 58 warehouse providers, and 30 trucking company. Currently, most of the local users who use the Tera platform are from Greater Jakarta, but there are also some users from other countries such as Singapore, Saudi Arabia, China, America, and various other countries.

"Currently Tera Logistics is still doing bootstrap (internal funding) for two and a half years and it is possible that Tera will apply for external funding in the future," said Handoyo.

Overall, Tera Logistics has two excellent features that users can take advantage of. Is Quotation Bidding that makes it easy for users to get the best prices from logistics companies.

Users only need to enter information related to the type of activity and the date of export/import they want to do, the mode of transportation, and the type of cargo along with the volume and tonnage. Then the information will be forward to a registered logistics company to be given a price quote. Thus users can compare various price quotes from various logistics companies.

Secondly, there is the Logistics Marketplace feature, making it easier for users to filter logistics companies directly based on the company's location, types of cargo that can be handled, types of services offered, and delivery destinations. Currently there are 3 types marketplace on the Tera platform that is for freight forwarders, warehouse providers, and trucking company.

"For monetization we apply subscription fees paid every month. There are three types of packages offered, namely: free, premiumand enterprise. The difference between each package is the validation of business legality and the minimum number of visitors who access it company profile the logistics company per month," said Handoyo.

The monetization process they implement is one of the differences with other players. Currently most other platforms take advantage of commissions, while Tera takes advantage of subscription.

In addition, the company also has a Data Sharing feature, allowing partners to display data brand each company and the company information.

"This is done so that users can interact and make transactions directly. Meanwhile, on other logistics competitor platforms, they cover up information from partners so that all transactions only go through that platform," said Handoyo.
