UK Fintech Player PPRO Enters Indonesia Through Integration of Ovo and Doku

Opening opportunities for global merchants to connect with local PSPs in the global market to attract buyers from Indonesia

UK PaaS payment platform PPRO spread its wings to Indonesia through its integration with payment service providers from Indonesia Ovo and Doku. They look at Indonesia because it is seen as an activity from the service E-commerce and payment systems have had rapid growth.

In his official statement, this integration will enable PPRO users consisting of global payment players and merchants which are incorporated under it can boost sales, attract consumers from Indonesia to shop.

Both Ovo and documentary in a research that they quote mentions that both of them are the leading players in Indonesia. In this country, credit card penetration is less than 5% of the population. To support the diversity of payment option preferences in Indonesia, the PPRO integration features four payment types: e-wallet, internet banking, bank transfers, and cash for consumers who prefer to pay at ATMs and convenience stores.

Therefore, the company's partnership with these two local players enables global payments companies and merchant they can capture additional opportunities from buyers in Indonesia.

“For consumers, this also means that they will have access to a wider variety of global goods and services that have successfully integrated Doku and Ovo through PPRO. The payment experience will be very similar to what users in Indonesia are already using as we prioritize the highest quality integration with our partners.”

Kelvin continued, the presence of PPRO in Indonesia is the company's latest achievement for the Asia Pacific region. Going forward the company wants to help more local payment providers join PPRO and connect with global merchants.

PPRO Service

PPRO positioned itself as PaaS (platform-as-a-service) which connects local payment players (payment service providers/PSP) in different countries to serve merchant interested in expanding market opportunities across its borders (cross-border). Via the PPRO, PSP and APIs and platforms merchant can accept local payment methods in more than 175 countries.

A number of PSP partners in Asia who have partnered include AliPay, WeChat Pay, DragonPay, eNets, Konbini Pay, Pay-easy, and GrabPay.

This British company has been established since 2006 and has offices in a number of countries, such as in Germany, Singapore, and Brazil for product development. Kelvin said that currently his party does not have a local team to take its business seriously in Indonesia. However, he opens up the possibility if the business development becomes more significant.

“PPRO has an extensive team across APAC and offices around the world. Currently, PPRO does not have a team working in Indonesia, but PPRO has ambitious expansion plans for the future,” he concluded.
