Flip Releases “Request Money” Feature to Make Transfer Requests Easier

The work process is similar to the "payment link" service that has been rolled out by many payment gateway startups

Money transfer app Flip launched a new "Request Money" feature to make it easier to receive money from other users and monitor the receipt of the money transfer. This feature has been rolled out to all users since this month.

VP Product & Design Flip Sourabh Gupta explained that currently one of the obstacles that users often feel is having to manually share account numbers which can lead to incorrect sending. Therefore, Flip provides an efficient way for users to monitor transfer receipts through the "Request Money" feature.

Actually, this feature is also similar to the Payment Link which is owned by a number of users payment gateway like Midtrans. Users cangenerate a special link that gives other users the option to make payments in a more structured way. This is widely used by SMEs, especially those who focus on for sale in social commerce. Similar features are also owned fintech others such as Durianpay and Xendit.

“We realize that there are various obstacles faced by users in making money transfers. As a customer-first company (customer centric), Flip innovates to launch the Request Money feature to shorten and simplify the money transfer process with just one link (link)," he said in an official statement, Thursday (13/10).

Via one link or link, users can share account numbers, monitor, and receive money into the account without worrying about the wrong transfer. In addition, in this feature users can monitor the receipt of money transfers through the Request Money Transaction History menu.

The flow of using this feature, from the main menu, click the 'Request' menu, then click 'Add Your Account' and select the bank used to receive the money. Make sure the account number matches, then 'Save Account'. Users can select the desired link, then copy the link to share with other Flip users.

Users who receive the link can directly enter the amount of money they want to transfer without the need to enter the account number again. The money will go directly to the user's account when the transfer has been made.

Head of Marketing Flip Andri Rahmad Wijaya added, the presence of the Request for Money feature is relevant to various people's lifestyles in conducting daily money transactions. For example, to collect social gathering money, donations, joint ventures, and bills after eating together.

“Socializing is a lifestyle inherent in Indonesian society. Not infrequently, the socialization requires various financial transactions, such as social gathering, collecting donations, and others. This Request for Money feature can make it easier to collect money, just by sharing one link to social groups of fellow Flip users," said Andri.

Flip Achievements

In the first half of this, Flip's individual users crossed the 10 million mark. The number of individual users has increased when compared to the second semester of 2021, which is more than 7 million users. Although not detailed in more detail, the interbank transfer solution e-wallet top up Flip's no admin fee is claimed to have helped users save hundreds of billions of Rupiah.
