Astra Holds Again the Astranauts Digital Innovation Competition for Founders and Students

Entering the second year, aiming for innovation in the fields of edutech, emerging tech, health, agribusiness, mobility, fintech, logistics, as well as media & entertainment

Astra is again holding the "Astranauts" digital innovation competition which is now entering its second year. In its implementation this year, the theme raised is "Building A Sustainable Future Through Technology".

In his presentation at the Iftar event with Astra yesterday (30/3), Astra's Chief of Group Digital Strategy Paul Soegianto conveyed the reason for his party's appointment theme sustainability, namely because of the need for digital innovation that can answer business challenges and technology that can contribute to these issues. Moreover, this theme is in line with Astra's aspirations in supporting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia.

Even though it's a theme sustainability, this time Astranauts is not only targeting digital innovation around that, but also about edutech, emerging tech, health, agribusiness, mobility, fintech, logistics, as well media & entertainment.

According to Paul, media & entertainment comes into focus because it is believed that in the future the way people consume media will continue to change. That's why a fresh breakthrough is needed to answer this challenge.

He also hopes that this year he can attract more registrants from the first implementation in 2022. "In 2022 we invite 1.000 teams to register and nearly 500 ideas. We want more participants to register this year," he said.

For the record, Astranauts is an innovation development event in the digital and technology fields for startups and students in Indonesia. The target participants are all startups and active students with a diploma, bachelor's or master's degree in the country.

There are different requirements between these two categories. Participants from the startup category must have Minimum Viable Product (MVP), product traction, and are allowed to have received external funding from investors, but not to exceed $10 million (nearly IDR 150 billion).

Meanwhile, participants from D3, S1, and S2 students are allowed to work individually or in groups, and can submit ideas that have not been implemented and have not been commercialized.

Registration itself has been open from March 8 to April 30 2023 through the website https://astranauts.astradigital.id.

The series of selection, starting from the session preliminary round, which will screen all applicants and select ten finalists from the startup and student categories. Furthermore, all finalists will get a session mentoring from experts in their fields.
