Pandemic Hits, Trustmedis Launches Telemedicine

Officially transformed into a SaaS platform since last year

Present since 2016 ago with a hospital management information system, Trustmedical appears again with a new service. This time Trustmedis presents a new product called Telemedis. This product is specifically made to facilitate ordering services and health consultations for health facilities.

The service that they released since the end of March is actually somewhat similar to the features Telemedicine from healthtech which was known long ago. However, Trustmedis CEO Achmad Zulkarnain explained to Mr DailySocial that their Telemedicine is different from other places which are only for consultation.

Telemedicine was created with the aim of helping clinics and hospitals that lost a lot of patient visits during the Covid-19 outbreak. Achmad said the decline in patient visits at clinics and hospitals reached 40%-60%.

"That's why we finally decided to start developing this service, telemedicine for clinics and hospitals," said Achmad in a written statement.

Achmad's statement also answered why they had just released a product Telemedicine when others have issued similar features long before. Achmad even admitted that his party had no plans to develop Telemedicine, considering that they are a startup that focuses on providing Health Information Systems (HIS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for health facilities in Indonesia.

Apart from that, Trustmedis brings a number of novelties in their Telemedical app. One of them is inspection via video call. Even through videos, Trustmedis guarantees that the quality of health services is optimal and in accordance with the legislation.

"We will provide all customers (hospitals and clinics) with this service for free, there are about 500 doctors in various health facilities who are ready to use this service," Achmad added.

MedisMap stop

Keep in mind beforehand when Trustmedical stands with three service pillars namely e-Doctor, e-Clinic, and e-Hospital. They complete the service with modules for inpatient, outpatient, emergency room, pharmacy, finance, administration, medical support, blood bank, nutrition installation, inventory, and accounting.

Along the way, Trustmedis also has another important strategy outside of HIS and EMR products, namely MedisMap. MedisMap is called a new startup operating under Trustmedis. It is an application that aims to make it easier for users to find the nearest health facility and order online.

At that time, Achmad said that the differentiating factor for MedisMap with similar applications was the medical record facility that doctors could access. However, the latest news from Achmad stated that MedisMap is no longer operating.

"MedicalMap is a system booking doctor, it's not the same as Telemedicine and unfortunately this MedisMap has been around for 2 years now hold first, because we wanted to focus on HIS and EMR products," said Achmad.

Become a SaaS

Many things have happened to Trustmedis over the past four years, according to Achmad. Referring to their official website, Trustmedis has done many things, including developing infrastructure and platforms, implementing a monthly rental business model, and starting to touch the B2C segment.

But until now, their HIS service is the company's flagship product. Many of these dynamics eventually led to the decision of Trustmedis to become a SaaS platform.

"At that time we built a lot of innovations, many dynamics occurred, we have experienced happiness and willingness, we face ups and downs in business, until finally 2019, we decided to change the scheme to SaaS," concluded Achmad.

Health facilities are indeed large in number throughout Indonesia. Data from the Ministry of Health (2018) for Puskesmas shows a total of 9.993 units, clinics 8.841 units, and hospitals 2.813 units. Trustmedis has ambitions to seize 10% of that amount.
