Tax.io Launches "Bee-Jak" Chatbot, Eases SMEs to Report and Pay Taxes

Aims to be able to help business actors manage taxes, Tax.io launching new features Bee-Jak chatbot which is equipped with Artificial Intelligence technology in the form of Natural Language Processing (NLP) in Indonesian. To DailySocial, Tax.io Co-founder & CEO Rayhan Gautama revealed, his vision from the start was to encourage tax inclusion, especially for taxpayers from the SME sector.

"What I understand is that the SME tax rate is very cheap, only half a percent of the total gross income each month. However, the payment process is still relatively difficult and convoluted, especially for business people who are less familiar with taxes," said Rayhan.

When it comes to paying taxes, there are many things to understand. Starting from the type of tax to match the reporting code, then matching the deposit code, and so on. Even though there is already an application online and official instructions from the website of the Directorate General of Taxes, many people are still not well versed in the procedure.

Through service chatbot Bee-Jak, Tax.io tries to help add to that understanding in a more comprehensive and "friendly" way. Like consultingchat with friends who are more tax savvy, chatbot will also provide information to calculate the tax to be paid, issue a code billing automatically, and set up a payment link through the service E-commerce partner of the Directorate General of Taxes. "But going forward, Bee-Jak will be the first tax consultant robot in Indonesia that can serve the administration of all types of taxes, from calculations, payments and reporting, both for company monthly taxes, assistance in calculating and reporting individual taxes, to making NPWP, " said Ryan.

Actually, there are other local startups that also offer easy tax reporting mechanisms chatbot. Namely application HiTax, the service concept presents a virtual assistant to help SMEs know various things related to taxation.

Pandemic and business growth

Since its launch on July 14, 2020 until the end of February 2021, Tax.io has had more than 5 thousand users, recorded more than 17 thousand tax transactions with a total Gross Transaction Value (GTV) of more than 200 billion Rupiah. Even though it was facing a pandemic, it did not affect the business as a whole. In general, the company claims to be quite happy with the business growth so far.

In the future, the company will also maximize AI technology in Tax.io, both to help users enterprise or SMEs. "chatbot Bee-Jak can be enjoyed by the entire SME community for free. We hope to get an increase in the participation of SMEs in tax payments in the Tax.io environment," said Rayhan.
