SaaS HR Platform Innovation and Challenge Stories

Gadjian and Catapa share about the company's activities throughout the year

Human resource management (HR) platforms in Indonesia are not new. Gadjian, Talenta, Jojonomic, Catapa, KaryaOne, and Benemica are examples of a list of names that offer solutions for companies or organizations in managing employees. The solution is not only a matter of data collection, but also integration and mobility. That's where innovation and collaboration are born – two crucial things for startups to be able to maintain their existence.

Gadjian and Catapa are pleased to share their experiences throughout 2019 with DailySocial. For both, meeting market needs is still the main thing, while continuing to explore the latest technology that can be implemented.

Co-founder and CEO Gadjian Afia Fitriati said that 2019 was a year full of challenges as well as achievements. For Afia and the team, HR Market is a trust-based market and this year they managed to get it.

"In the first 2 years we operated, as new players we didn't get that trust. But in 2019, we started to be known so that it started a lot brand-brand Even large SOEs use our applications to manage HR," Afia said.

Meanwhile, for Catapa, in addition to the team and products that have matured this year, Catapa officially has call center and also successfully held a Catapa Talk, an event that provided many inputs for the Catapa team to be better in the future.

"In 2019 we establish call center at 150150 in order to continue to improve services to customer Catapa. And for the first time in 2019, Catapa held a Catapa Talk inviting selected HR practitioners. The feedback is very good. We plan to hold the next Catapa Talk in 2020," said Catapa CEO Stefanie Suanita.

Challenges faced

The HR solutions offered by Gadjian and Catapa from the start targeted various types of organizations. The things that must be maintained from existing solutions are stable performance and experiences that help or facilitate. Not to mention the complexity of the existing services.

For Catapa, two important things that are still a challenge are educating the market and dealing with the reluctance to change. Traditions that have been maintained for a long time inevitably have to be updated with technology. Catapa who from the beginning tried to introduce HRIS (Human Resource Intelligent System) strives to educate the market on the importance of good HR management.

Therefore, there is every chance public talks or even pitching, Catapa tries to convey the message of the important role of HR in a company and with the right HRIS support the company will move closer to the company's goals," explained Stefanie.

Meanwhile, for Gadjian, who has already been in the industry, consistency is quite crucial. In this case, the main focus is to keep the service available and working well when the user needs it.

"The challenge we face is to ensure that our products and services continue to run well in order to maintain trust customer. Our products are quite complex and are used routinely by customer so this challenge is sometimes not easy. For example, our attendance application, Attendr, which is used by tens of thousands of employees at least twice a day every day, or Gadjian, which is accessed every month to manage salaries. Just a little error, for sure customer complain, said Afia.

Innovation: Benefide and Claudia

Neither Gadjian nor Catapa are done with innovation. Both still focus on the latest features or services that are prepared to pamper their respective users.

Gadjian, at the end of 2019 introduces Benefide, a platform that will complement Gadjian service ecosystem previously filled with Gadjian's employee management services and Attendance management of Attendance.

At the end of 2019 we just launched our latest innovation, namely the Benefide employee benefits platform. So far, our focus has been to serve the management and HR department in HR management with Gadjian and Presentr. With Benefide, we are expanding the scope of our services, not only serving the company, but also serving employees with a better benefit package to be more productive and feel at home at work," Afia explained.

Innovation also continues to be Catapa's strategy. Recently they introduced Claudia, a chatbot that can act as a personal secretary for everyone in the company. Because it can assist employees in applying for leave, approving leave requests, and others. This is one of the newest features resulting from the implementation of AI technology.

"In addition to Claudia, there will be attractive offers from Catapa partners for companies and employees who use Catapa such as employees who can buy travel insurance at a more affordable price," explained Stefanie.
