Smart Edtech Startup Obtains Pre-Series A Funding of IDR 47 Billion

This funding round was led by Havez Capital with participation from SIG Venture Capital

Platform EdTech Pintar is reported to have secured pre-series A funding of $3 million (around Rp. 46,9 billion) led by Havez Capital and participation from SIG Venture Capital.

For information, Havez Capital is an investment company led by Imelda Harsono, who currently also serves as Director at PT Samator Indo Gas Tbk.

"Our mission is to empower the workforce, aiming to improve their skills so they can get out of business middle income trap," said Pintar CEO Ray Pulungan in his official statement as reported by TechinAsia.

Pintar is a career development platform that offers training, credentialing, and job posting solutions--positioning a different model than most EdTech which focuses on K-12 education.

The claim is that Pintar has been used by 2 million users, including the owner of the Indomaret minimarket network for recruitment and training purposes, to state-owned Krakatau Steel for talent development and compliance needs. His party has also partnered with the Ministry of Education and Culture and Kadin.

Paint previously named HarukaEdu which has raised up to series C funding with a total of $2,2 million. Rebranding this will be done in 2022.

As an illustration, ecosystem EdTech in Indonesia is not only focused on providing K12 learning solutions. Apart from Pintar, other platforms are entering the non-formal education segment for business actors, for example Kuncie. There are also those who are trying out digitalization for universities.
