Strengthening F&B Merchant Network, SiFast Invests in DigiResto

Targeting the MSME merchant network in the Jabodetabek area

PT SiCepat Ekspres Indonesia (SiCepat) officially announced its investment in the platform DigiResto under the auspices of PT M Cash Integration Tbk (MCAS). Company announces signing conditional share subscription agreement (CSSA) aka share purchase agreement for 51% ownership in DigiResto.

DigiResto is a food ordering platform developed by PT Digital Maxima Kharisma (DMK), a subsidiary of PT M Cash Integration (MCAS). Previously in early December 2020, SiCepat had collaborated with DigiResto as a logistics solution and delivery service provider last mile.

In his official statement, SiCepat CEO The Kim Hai said this investment will be used to develop the DigiResto platform in the future. By strengthening DigiResto, SiCepat can drive revenue contribution from the food delivery market which is estimated to reach $2 billion in 2020.

"Going forward, we will explore further strategic investment opportunities with MCAS Group. We will also integrate more of their technology offerings into the supply chain leaders us," said Kim Hai.

The F&B business is indeed one of the business segments that is being targeted by many digital players. For the same digitization process, Gojek also has a service ecosystem under the auspices of GoBiz, including services for ordering, recording, payment, to capital loans. Grab also do the same through GrabMerchant.

Quoting Cash, SiCepat sees a big opportunity in service same-day delivery for F&B products and groceries. This is because people are getting used to shopping at E-commerce or marketplace during the pandemic. As evidence, SiCepat experienced an increase in delivery volume of up to 800 thousand per day or around 114% as of October 2020.

Contacted separately, DMK Director Mohammad Anis Yunianto mentioned several things that DigiResto will focus on in 2021. First, the company will expand its F&B merchant network focusing on the Greater Jakarta area.

"Currently, segment [merchants] what DigiResto is after is a restaurant. The joining of SiCepat will strengthen DigiResto's merchant network in the MSME segment," Anis said DailySocial.

A total of 2300 merchant noted to have used the DigiResto platform. Anis has not been able to reveal the exact target for business growth considering that this target depends on the success of the initial socialization stage of the service as well as economic recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition to network expansion merchant, he continued, the company will also increase user experience on the ordering system in the app mobile devices and WhatsApp. "In the future, we hope to add more useful features to our platform to improve user experience this," he added.
