Shipper Announces Series B Funding Worth 923 Billion Rupiah

Funding round led by DST Global Partners and Sequoia Capital India

Logistics aggregator startup Shipper announced that it has received series B funding worth $63 million or equivalent to 923 billion Rupiah. The round was led by DST Global Partners and Sequoia Capital India with previous investor participation including Prosus Ventures, Floodgate, Lightspeed, Insignia Ventures, AC Ventures and Y Combinator. Previously, this Y Combinator W19 dropout had booked series A . funding in mid-2020 and led by Process Ventures.

The fresh funds will be focused on developing technology and expanding its logistics network massively, serving MSMEs throughout Indonesia. Shipper Services provides fulfillment and delivery services over the network fulfillment center, delivery partners and digitally managed retail points. Presented statistics, currently the company serves thousands of businesses E-commerce which distributes millions of products every day.

The pandemic that has occurred has also pushed up the volume of shipments of purchased packages online, making the transaction value at Shipper also boosted up. Several strategic efforts were also made during the past year, including partnering with Dana to provide logistics solutions for the digital payment application. To expand its business model, Shipper also undertakes acquisition of two logistics startups Porter and Pakde.

"We started Shipper four years ago from personal experience when we saw the many difficulties in packaging and shipping packages as a merchant online. In building Shipper, we always use an approach from the perspective of SMEs because that is our identity. We are very happy to be able to contribute and strengthen the MSME segment as well as to participate in encouraging the strengthening of the national logistics ecosystem," added Co-Founder & COO Shipper Budi Handoko.
