Andalin Gets New Funding, Local Logistics Startups Are More Considered by Investors
BEENEXT-led funding round with involvement of Access Ventures and ATM Capital
Platform developer smart logistics Andalin booked new funding led by BEENEXT. Access Ventures and ATM Capital took part in this round. The details of the nominal funding provided were not stated, but Andalin said that it had collected a total funding of $1,5 million equivalent to 22 billion Rupiah.
Additional capital will be focused on expanding the team and strengthening services, the target is to acquire more clients from manufacturing companies and distributors. The expansion of services throughout Indonesia will also be the next target.
Founded in 2016 by Rifki Pratomo, Andalin help businesses to do export-import shipments. Including having a B2B model to help shipping companies in Indonesia find affordable cargo transportation -- by plane (Air Cargo & Air Courier) or by ship (Full Container Load & Low Container Load).
Besides that, Andalin also has services supply chain leaders. This includes consulting services, customs management for export-import, and cargo insurance. They have also become Alibaba's official partners in Indonesia, bridging the needs of local entrepreneurs to embrace the international market through the Alibaba platform.
"Our mission is to streamline and continue to optimize international trade for businesses in Indonesia, starting with cross-border logistics," said Rifki.
He also believes that Indonesia is experiencing booming manufacturing, as happened in China three decades ago. This trend was accelerated by the US-China trade war which resulted in companies relocating manufacturing from China to countries in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia.
"By building a shipping company with modern technology, Andalin has the ability to dynamically streamline international supply chain solutions for our clients," he added.
In Indonesia, the logistics business is quite growing, driven by many factors. In addition to manufacturing developments, business growth trends E-commerce is also considered to be a contributing factor. Moreover, many services from home and abroad are touching the international market. In the export-import segment itself, Andalin is not alone, several other players in the area include Expedito, Tera Logitic, and Janio.
