NOICE Announces 316 Billion Rupiah Series A Funding Led by Northstar

Accelerate content acquisition and development of audio technology platforms for creators

Today (22/4), NOICE announced the acquisition of series A funding of $22 million or equivalent to 316 billion Rupiah. This round was led by Northstar and followed by previous investors Alpha JWC, Go-Ventures and Kinesys. This achievement will support the company's ambition to become the largest audio platform in Indonesia by accelerating content acquisition and developing audio creator technology platforms.

Previously NOICE has closed the loop A pre-series funding led by Alpha JWC Ventures and Go-Ventures in 2021. Recently, the company also received strategic investment support from Raffi Ahmad's RANS Entertainment and Nagita Slavina.

According to the total available revenue, it is estimated that NOICE's valuation has reached the Centaur level (over $100 million).

Redesigned as a platform streaming radio, NOICE start widen its service segment by venturing into audio content on-demand. NOICE was established under the auspices of PT Mahaka Radio Digital in 2018, which is a joint venture company owned by PT Mahaka Radio Integra Tbk (IDX: MARI) and PT Quatro Kreasi Indonesia. Quatro is the result of a consortium of record companies in Indonesia, including Musica, Aquarius, My Music, and Trinity.

In the competition with local and global players in the audio streaming platform industry, NOICE puts forward the strategy hyperlocal as part of the company's hypothesis that it wants to be the home of audio content in Indonesia. Previously, the company has also introduced NOICE Live, a feature social networking in an audio format that allows interaction real-time between creators, listeners, musicians, fans, to expert.

"We will use this investment to develop the creator community, technology platform, and expand the scope of audio series content to present the best Indonesian stories from the local writer community and adapt them into audio formats. We have tested this new format and saw the results of interactions and very promising retention. This is a really exciting new space to explore and has a lot of potential," said NOICE CEO Rado Ardian.

Launching Noicemaker Studio

The prospect of the content industry in Indonesia is increasingly popular with the proliferation of creators who create a variety of works through various platforms. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, when many business sectors fell, the creative economy through content creators actually became an opportunity for the younger generation to continue working.

This is seen as an opportunity by NOISE, a technology startup from Indonesia that focuses on providing the most complete audio content platform. Redesigned as a platform streaming radio, NOICE began to widen its service segment by venturing into audio content on-demand.

NOICE officially presents "Noicemaker Studio", a digital space without boundaries for creators to be able to optimize their work in the country's audio content industry. Through this channel, all content creators from all regions in Indonesia can present their works, especially podcast, into the NOICE application and reach a wider audience through the enterprise ecosystem network.

Rado explained that Noicemaker Studio allows content creators (Noicemaker) to enter content podcast them to the NOICE app with ease, and have direct access to the NOICE creator account dashboard to see detailed performance of their work. This will directly make it easier for them to get various items insight which will certainly push the quality of their work forward.”

The Noicemaker Studio platform is accessible to all creators without exception. Will be done screening methods periodically every week to monitor the quality of podcast content. In addition, to protect and ensure the quality of the content is maintained, NOICE also presents a report feature for users to report if there is content that is deemed vulgar or inappropriate.

To start using the platform, creators can access Noicemaker Studio via the page website and gain access to present their content on NOICE by entering an RSS . link podcast them to the web page. In addition to new creators, Noicemaker Studio can also be used by registered creators to see the performance of the various content they present.

Co-founder & CBO NOICE Niken Sasmaya said “Noicemaker Studio is the first step that we present to develop potential content creators who join and grow in the NOICE ecosystem. Noicemaker Studio itself is part of the Noicemaker Club Program (NCP), an integrated program presented by NOICE to support content creators to grow and develop along with the success of their content performance."

This program is expected to be able to transcend all boundaries for creators to introduce and popularize their work to the wider community. "Anyone can be a content creator and podcasts. With almost 2 million NOICE listeners who continue to grow, we believe this will be very helpful in realizing NOICE's commitment to advancing the audio content industry in the country, in line with our current position as an IP producer.
