Obtained from Lightspeed Ventures, Floodgate Ventures, Insignia Ventures Partners, Convergence Ventures and Y Combinator

Platform developer startups aggregator Shipper logistics service today announce has booked an initial funding round of $5 million or equivalent to 70,3 billion Rupiah. Investors involved include Lightspeed Ventures, Floodgate Ventures, Insignia Ventures Partners, Convergence Ventures and Y Combinator. This investment increases his previous $150k gain following his involvement in the Y Combinator acceleration program.

The capital raised will be focused on recruiting and acquiring customers. Since launch 2017 year, Shipper has now served more than 25 thousand online merchants. Improved traction E-commerce and buying and selling via social media helped make the logistics business carried by Phil Opamuratawongse and Budi Handoko skyrocket in the market.

Geographically, Indonesia has a unique order. The region which is divided into many islands presents its own challenges for the logistics business. The Shipper believes that this condition is impossible to be solved by one player alone. From Shipper's internal data, it is noted that currently there are approximately 2500 logistics providers in Indonesia with various business scales.

Many logistics businesses cover only a small area, but they know very well about the location -- including the reliability of access, because some locations are also difficult to reach. The Shipper platform allows merchants to obtain relevant logistics services, which are able to efficiently accommodate shipments to their designated areas.

Shipper also provides a courier service for picking up packages to the user's location, also starting to provide a pick-up location or package pick-up. In addition to tracking, the technology developed is also designed to help logistics providers to manage shipments. Including calculating the best shipping route. Dedicated APIs are also provided for business consumers, connecting Shipper solutions to partner-developed platforms.

Until next year Shipper targets to have 1000 hub micro for pickup and 20 logistics centers. The ambition of regional expansion has also been conveyed, the target is also to be able to serve the markets of Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines in the coming years.
