IDMarco's Online Wholesale Service Targets the "Business to Retail" Market This Year

Will expand services to Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi; already has 1400 distribution network points

Launched in April 2017, IDMarco, an online grocery shopping service backed by the Salim Group, has various plans for 2018.

To DailySocial, VP Marketing & Business Development Regan Dwinanda revealed, since launched In April last year, the most preferred access by customers was via a mobile browser. At the end of February, IDMarco plans to launch a mobile application to facilitate purchases.

"We have also provided services throughout Java. For 2018, to be precise in March, we will expand the service area to Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi," said Regan.

The large opportunity for wholesale sales in Indonesia is one reason why IDMarco was launched with a B2R (Business to Retail) target. This segment is claimed by IDMarco to be classified as "sexy", but there are still few players who target this segment. They are the habits of the Indonesian people who still use it a lot Wholesale or traditional and modern grocery stores.

"The bottom line is that IDMarco and Indomarco, which currently have 1400 distribution network points spread throughout Indonesia, want to bridge the needs of wholesale stores, grocery stores, corporations to individuals who want to buy wholesale goods easily at affordable prices," Regan said.

Selling FMCG Salim Group products

The products sold at IDMarco are generally Salim Group's FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) products, ranging from Indomie to flour and cooking oil. Most of it is for general public consumption. With a minimum purchase of IDR 300 thousand rupiah, buyers can get the ordered goods within two days of ordering and free shipping.

"We are trying to provide this convenience to customers when they buy products from IDMarco. [This] is different from other services, which mostly still use third-party logistics for delivery," said Regan.

Regan added, seeing the habits of wholesale buyers and sellers who prioritize cash payments, IDMarco also focuses on COD (Cash On Delivery) payments to all IDMarco buyers. Other payment options provided by IDMarco are bank transfer and credit cards.

"In the future we will also add other payment options through Indomaret outlets. This is still in our next plan," said Regan.

Another advantage that is claimed to be only owned by IDMarco is the opportunity for buyers to get new products from Indofood and other members of the Salim Group through IDMarco.

The focus of marketing activities in 2018

To market IDMarco's services, in 2018 marketing activities, both online and offline, will be more aggressively launched. To provide a new and more economical option, IDMarco will also present packages in medium to small packages to customers who need it. The package is called IDMarco Unit.

"In 2017 we were still busy preparing the platform as well as seeing the response from the target market. In 2018 we will seriously carry out marketing activities while presenting mobile applications to customers," concluded Regan.
