First step

  • Open the Windows menu
  • Open the Control Panel menu
  • Click Administrative Tools
  • Select the Services menu
  • Swipe down for the Windows Update list

  • Click Stop while the update list is running
  • Change Startup Type to Disabled
  • Click Apply and OK
  • Restart on PC or laptop

Second Way

  • Press the Windows key and the letter R at the same time
  • Type services.msc.
  • Click OK
  • Look for the Windows update menu by double-clicking it
  • Select Startup Type
  • Select Disable
  • Click Apply and OK
  • Restart on PC or laptop.
