How to Overcome WiFi Limited Access, Easy to Do in 2023

WiFi Limited Access is one of the problems with Wi-Fi connection. As a result, WiFi cannot be used or the Internet cannot be accessed.

Limited Wi-Fi connection is a problem that every Wi-Fi user can experience. This problem can occur with private WLAN users, ie. WLAN connection that is only used privately at home, or WLAN users at free hotspots that must share bandwidth with other people.

Limited-use Wi-Fi networks usually cannot be used for surfing, streaming and other online activities. This issue occurs because the owner of the server or Wi-Fi network has limited bandwidth.

For example, a Wi-Fi owner limits only 10 people who can connect to a Wi-Fi network. Therefore, the eleven users who tried to connect to the Wi-Fi network faced obstacles in the form of limited access.

At the same time, private users may also experience the same. However, the reason is not the limited server bandwidth, but the IP address used is conflicting, so there is interference. So how do you deal with this limited access WiFi connection? Check out the next review.

1. Change the IP Address

The first step you can take is to change the IP address. Change the IP address with the computer you are using. Do the following:

• Go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Network and Sharing Center

• Then select the 'Connections' menu where it says: Wireless Network Connection along with the name of the Wi-Fi you want to use

• Click the Wi-Fi name

• Click the 'Properties' button

• Select 'Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)'

• Click 'Properties' and fill in the IP Address according to the IP provided by the provider you are using

• Finally click 'OK'

2. Restart the Router

The router (ONT) is the Wi-Fi modem that you are using. Restarting the router is the easiest way if you are having problems with the internet network you are using. Turn off the router and let it sit for a few minutes before turning it back on. The router will need a few minutes to work properly again.

3. Restart your computer

WiFi problems alone are not always caused by the network you are using. This problem can occur because the computer you are using is too heavy. Also the network configuration might be wrong causing this problem. Try restarting your computer and connecting to the Wi-Fi network in use again.

4. Overcoming Wifi Limited Access in Windows 10

How to solve the limited access wifi problem in Windows 10 is:

• Continue by selecting Device Manager in the left toolbar

• Select Network Adapters and select the Wi-Fi connection that matches the Wi-Fi name you will use

• Select the menu that says 'Browse my computer for driver software'

• Next, select the words 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'

• Click Browse > Have Disk

• Try one by one from the list provided

Apart from the various solutions above, make sure you also get a stable WiFi signal. The reason is, the WiFi signal that often drops can be one of the triggers.

If you can't handle limited WiFi access this way, ask someone with more experience to help. If the problem persists, contact your ISP's customer service. Because this limited access problem may be caused by internal interference in the network. Good luck.
