Zenyum Healthtech Startup Plans to Expand to Indonesia

Has received series A funding of US$13,6 million from RTP Global, Sequoia India, TNB Aura, SEEDS Capital, and several other investors

Having previously had a presence in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand, Singapore-based "cosmetic teeth" platform Zenyum plans to expand into Indonesia, Taiwan and Vietnam.

This startup is part of the Surge program launched by Sequoia Capital India. Founded in 2018, specifically targeting countries in Asia by presenting dental cosmetics in the form of stirrups at affordable prices.

To DailySocial CEO Zenyum Julian Artope revealed, after conducting thorough market research, he and his colleague Frederik Krass who served as COO decided to launch Zenyum targeting millennials.

"I have always had a particular affinity for healthcare and recognize the many benefits that technology can bring to the sector. After studying in Singapore in 2016, I saw the great potential that the region has in growing business, and the gaps in Asia especially industry dental cosmetics, I was inspired to start a business."

In addition to buying products, the Zenyum application is also designed to connect doctors, experts, and customers so that they can communicate with each other about their dental development. Thus, customers do not need to consult the clinic every month.

Users can carry out an examination through the site when they start using the service, then the dentist from Zenyum will determine the appropriate type of treatment. Prospective customers will be recommended to visit one of the hundreds of partner clinics to have an intraoral scan done by a local doctor and make transparent dental braces tailored to their condition.

"Our commitment to a strong partnership model is key for Zenyum to ensure high quality care, especially for an industry where expertise and professional advice are invaluable," said Julien.

Series A . funding

After securing US$13,6 million in fresh funding from RTP Global, Sequoia India, TNB Aura, SEEDS Capital, and several other investors; Zenyum has several plans that will be launched in the near future. Among other things, expanding the market and adding new products that are in line with previous derivatives such as teeth whitening and many more. The company also plans to add a new category, namely cosmetics.

Currently Zenyum has around 100 team members across the region. The company also claims to have experienced revenue growth reaching 20–30% every month.

Platforms that offer similar services from Indonesia are Flat. The startup fostered by Alpha JWC Ventures claims to be a technology clear aligners the first to be present in Indonesia using the latest technology at an affordable price.
