Hacktiv8, Kata.ai, and Riliv Chosen to Join the Google for Startups Accelerator Program

Three-month online accelerator program for startups in the early stages up to series A

Google today (05/8) officially announced startups participating in the Google for Startups Accelerator program in Southeast Asia. Of the 15 names chosen, three were from Indonesia, namely Hacktiv8, Riliv, and Kata.ai. All three will get a chance to get mentoring from the Google team, both from a technical and a business perspective.

On its official website, Google also stated that they would help participants connect with Google partners and the wider technology industry. In this series of activities, workshops will be held that focus on product design, customer service, and leadership development for employees founder.

Hacktiv8 is a startup EdTech that provides solutions bootcamp and training for developer, including linking graduates with employment opportunities. Meanwhile, Kata.ai is a provider of -based solutions chatbot for business. Meanwhile, Riliv is a startup with counseling and meditation application solutions with the aim of helping mental health problems.

"Google for Startups Accelerator Southeast Asia is an accelerator program online for three months for startups in the early stages to Series A with great potential to help solve challenges in this region," wrote Google.

In this first period, Google selected more than 600 startups to get 15 selected participants. There are also several categories that Google searches for, including:

  • Startups that are in the initial funding phase with technology-based products.
  • Already gaining traction and already through "stage idea" with some initial customer validation.
  • Startups that are able to identify large market opportunities.
  • Startups in the health, education, finance, or logistics categories and implementing AI/ML technology or data analytics.
  • Startup founder or team capable of demonstrating technical, business and financial skills mindset to grow and develop regional business.

Google Indonesia's Head of Corporate Communication Jason Tedjasukmana told DailySocial that this bootcamp will be held intensively for three months and will be fully held online. Participants will receive detailed technical training and strategy development opportunities with Google's machine learning, HR, product, and growth labs.

"For more than five years Google has been running the Launchpad Accelerators program, which reaches entrepreneurs in more than 40 countries and includes them in the global portfolio of some of the world's most successful startups. In an effort to simplify Google's program for startups, starting in late 2019 all Launchpad Accelerators have renamed Google for Startups Accelerator," added Jason.
