Grab Expand Presence GrabWheels at the University of Indonesia

Grab expanding electric scooter services GrabWheels at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia. Its presence is a continuation of the strategic cooperation between Grab and UI in May 2019 in UI Works . accelerator program.

president of Grab Indonesia Ridzki Kramadibrata explained, UI's Faculty of Engineering was the second location for attendance GrabWheels, after The Breeze, BSD. He hopes that this mode of transportation can be used for the daily lives of lecturers, students, and all UI academics.

Not only that, with a strong background in the field of engineering, students and lecturers can provide input, both in terms of technology and user experience agar GrabWheels is better going forward.

"Input from users is very important for us because we want it GrabWheels can continue to be expanded to other locations," he said, Wednesday (17/7).

The Dean of the UI Faculty of Engineering Hendri DS Budiono added, judging from the area, the Faculty of Engineering is the second largest in UI so there is a need for mobility devices in daily activities. The road infrastructure also supports the use of electric scooters in the campus area.

As a result, presence GrabWheels is in line with the vision of the faculty in developing IT-based environment. Hendri also hopes that this collaboration can continue to foster the spirit of research and innovation of students to advance the nation through technological innovation.

Meanwhile, Grab provides about 45 units GrabWheels that can be directly used in the UI Faculty of Engineering area. There is no fee charged, alias free. It's just that, before using it, there is education on safe driving behavior via direct messages in the application GrabWheels.

Users are required to use a helmet as a complete driving. During the trial period, Grab provide a special team to help users if they experience technical problems.

Ridzki said that his party would continue to add scooter units, depending on the level of demand later. Moreover, the plan GrabWheels will soon be available for all UI areas. Also, in the near future it will be present in the main application Grab.
