Eight Startups Complete Pitching Final Virtual Startup Hunt Bubu Awards V.10

Fighting for the grand prize "bootcamp" in Silicon Valley and Sweden

Indosat Ooredoo IDByte 2017 officially held on Monday (25/9), by holding a Virtual Startup Hunt Final which is part of the Bubu Awards v.10.

Before the final round was held, Visual Startup Hunt had completed the preliminary rounds in five cities, namely Bandung, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, and Medan on August 5-6 2017. Finally, eight startups were selected to pitch before the jury.

All startups will be evaluated in five areas, namely the level of urgency of the product in the market, innovation in pedagogical approach, user experience (UX), growth potential in user base, and the potential to develop into a sustainable business.

Based on these five assessments, the jury will choose two winners with two categories of Best Growth and Most Innovative Startup. Winners will be announced at the Bubu Awards on September 28, 2017. The winners will be flown to Silicon Valley and Sweden for a bootcamp in February 2018.

In the same competition two years ago, Startup Hunt chose a startup from Bandung, namely Kakatu, a platform for monitoring children's digital activities on smartphones.

For more details on the eight startups that took part in the Virtual Startup Hunt Final pitching, the following is a summary:

Andalin

This startup focuses on developing one-stop integrated services pintu which focuses on customs to facilitate SME entrepreneurs to the upper middle class in export and import activities. Andalin has worked with shipping agents and warehouses in several countries. They were also selected as one of the winners in the fourth batch of the Ideabox accelerator program.

Bildeco

Bildeco was once a startup that was eligible to join the Sixth Generation Founder Institute program. This is a specialized e-commerce service for building materials that helps contractors get the best prices through an extensive network of manufacturers and suppliers in Indonesia. As of now, Bildeco has collected more than 10 thousand SKUs.

botika

Was selected as a participant in the #NextDev competition. Botika is an artificial intelligence platform that uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) in Indonesian. This platform can connect with various messaging services, offering users preferred recommendations. Botika can respond automatically in the fields of customer service, airline tickets, hotel room reservations, movie schedules to restaurant reservations.

You'reto

This startup has just been selected as one of the startups that will be sent for a conference in Indonesia Startups World Cup 2018. Eresto provides SaaS-based restaurant management services. This startup provides integrated and real time services for restaurants with many branches. In addition, there is a self-order feature so that consumers can order directly from their table.

Jala

Jala previously won the 2017 Creative Business Cup competition. Jala is a startup that works as an assistant for shrimp farming businesses. The system presented is a self-developed IoT device to assist farmers in monitoring water quality. The device is designed to solve the problem of shrimp farming by measuring, analyzing, and providing all recommendations based on pond water conditions.

Garbage Mall

Garbage Mall is a startup that was born in Makassar, presenting online waste management solutions for households and offices. Everyone can sell and manage waste through the Garbage Mall site. How it works, the Garbage Mall connects users with the nearest collectors and scavengers, making it easier to sell and manage waste.

Marlin Booking

Together with Eresto, Marlin Booking was also selected as one of the winners who will be sent to attend the conference at the 2018 Startup World Cup. Marlin Booking is an online ferry ticket booking application. Currently the route served is for Batam-Singapore and Batam-Malaysia, and vice versa with a guaranteed booking time of 15 minutes.

Simba

Previously, Simbah was a participant in the Indigo incubator program. Simbah is a virtual assistant application to assist farmers in providing information about agriculture. In addition, Simbah also helps farmers sell their products in the marketplace.
