Jakarta Founder Institute Graduates 9 Founders Startup Sixth Batch [UPDATED]

Announcing the top five graduates, all graduates will leave for Silicon Valley

Last night, Monday (13/2) the Jakarta Founder Institute (JFI) held a graduation party for the sixth batch, consisting of nine startup founders. They are Ary Setiyono (Wsignal), Erik Hormein (Sevva), Errika Ferdinata (Bildeco), Rifki Bahri (Andalin), Antonius Stefanus (Neetip), Gimin (3i), Indra (IndoGold), Marvinus Arif (Fishare), and Bong Defendy (ZendMoney).

These nine people were the result of screening out of a total of nearly 500 applicants, but only 75 people were accepted for this batch. All graduates will head to Silicon Valley next week as a prize.

Not only that, JFI also announced the five best graduates. They are entitled to a grant of IDR 100 million each, as well as marketing support when launching a business.

Founder Institute is a training program that runs for four months per month batch-his. This program is already operating in 20 countries, training new founders to form the best generation in the company. This program facilitates weekly sessions filled with experienced mentors in their fields to help founders grow and launch their businesses.

In Indonesia, JFI is supported by various partners, from Indosat Ooredoo, Baidu, Kejora, Mountain Partners, Bakti Barito, and others.

Unlike the previous batch, the Founder Institute is serious about this program to the point of forming a Board of Directors (BoD). Three people were selected from the BoD ranks, namely Boye Hartman (Y Group Asia), Andy Zain (Kejora), and Izak Jenie (Digital Artha Media).

"Nowadays, graduates are different individuals than when we first met 14 weeks ago. I hope that graduates can put the knowledge they have learned in training into practice in the real world," Hartman said.

Izak added, "We want founders from JFI graduates to be strong, know what they are doing. We are also happy that two of the three Ideabox Batch 4 winners are from JFI graduates."

Founder and CEO of Sevva Erik Hormein said he was very grateful for holding the Founder Institute program. There were many tough challenges during those 14 weeks of work. Not only can he gain knowledge, he can also strengthen family relationships with other graduates.

"The journey has been very hard, besides that we are all more with each other. Meeting other entrepreneurs with the same vision can create very good positive energy. That is something that cannot be exchanged for money," said Erik.
