eFishery Expands Business Coverage, Presents Distribution and Capital Services

Introduce eFisheryFresh and eFisheryFund products to connect fish and shrimp farmers with the right partners

The year 2019 has been quite happy for eFishery. Furthermore, this IoT-tech fish feed device developer startup will focus more on developing the aquaculture ecosystem as a whole. Throughout the year eFishery claims to have managed to record business growth of up to 300%, supported by expansion to 120 cities in Indonesia.

"2019 is an important year for us. Our main products are growing fast, supported by various initiatives and new product which was introduced. We managed to grow more than 300% and expand our business to 120 cities. Some of the new products that we introduce are eFisheryFresh, eFisheryFund and eFisheryFeed," said Krisna Aditya, Chief of Product for eFishery.

In Indonesia, there are not many startups engaged in aquaculture, eFishery is one that consistently develops its products and services. Currently, there are two tools being developed, namely eFisheryFeeder for Fish and eFisheryFeeder for Shrimp.

Both are similar tools. The point is to help fish and shrimp cultivators to be able to provide feed automatically which can be controlled using smartphone. Automation can be done by setting a schedule, complete with adjusted doses. From these two tools, it is hoped that it will bring efficiency in the time and feed needed.

Introducing distribution and capital channels

End of 2018 eFishery managed to secure series A pendanaan funding worth Rp58 billion from Wavemaker, 500 Startups and a number of other investors. This Bandung-based startup now not only wants to be known as a developer of fish/shrimp feeding equipment, but also wants to develop a digital platform to help fishpond business processes from upstream to downstream.

In more detail, Krisna said, eFisheryFund and eFisheryFresh are one of the efforts that are currently being optimized. The two products were developed based on input and research on the problems often faced by fish/shrimp farmers.

For example the product eFisheryFresh, this innovation departs from distribution problems. After the cultivators harvest, they are quite difficult to sell products with high bargaining value. This is due to the lack of efficient sales channels.

"We absorb the harvests of various fishery commodities directly from local fish cultivators, then we market them to various consumers, both those who have large parties and home needs. Through eFisheryFresh, we are committed to presenting fresh and quality fish products," added Krisna.

His party has also launched a solution to solve the financial issue of fish cultivators, in this case the matter of capital. Through eFisheryFund, farmers can connect with eFishery partner institutions to obtain loans to improve their business development.

Slowly but surely, eFishery, which started from expertise in the IoT field, began to look for opportunities to provide even more benefits for farmers. The two new solutions are believed to be the initial capital to make the company bigger, in terms of business value and scope.
