Cool Japan Fund Engaged in Series F Funding Gojek, Give 709 Billion Rupiah

Gojek still continuing to raise new funding in a series F round for the target of $ 3 billion. After last month AIA Indonesia Entering the ranks of investors, this month Cool Japan Fund was involved with funds of $50 million or equivalent to 709,2 billion Rupiah.

Every investor has a specific agenda when it comes to funding a business. If AIA had a mission to elaborate service wellness with the ecosystem Gojek, Cool Japan Fund plans to increase the dissemination of content from Japan through the platform Gojek.

Previous Gojek officially launched GoPlay, which is a service video on-demand which will show various exclusive video shows. Later, various Japanese-related content, for example in the form of films or cooking videos, will be included as viewing options there.

Cool Japan Fund also wants to take advantage of the GoFood Festival to increase the penetration of Japanese restaurants and cuisines in Indonesia, so that they are better known by the public.

Cool Japan Fund is a venture capital company under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan. Their investments focus on four areas, namely: media & content, fashion & lifestyle, food & services, and inbound.

Previously they invested in a lifestyle media company Closet worth $10 million in a series C round, followed by the launch of the Cool Japan Ecosystem to strengthen its presence in Indonesia.
