BroilerX Secures Pre-Series A Funding from Saison Capital, Insignia, Kopital, and Orvel Ventures

The total funding received by BroilerX reached $3,5 million or the equivalent of 54,4 billion Rupiah

Startup in the chicken farming sector BroilerX received pre-series A funding. According to regulatory data, as quoted from Alternative.PE, this round was attended by Saison Capital, Insignia Ventures Partners, Capital Ventures, and Orvel Ventures. This new investment brings the total funding obtained by BroilerX to $3,5 million or the equivalent of 54,4 billion Rupiah.

This news was confirmed by one of the investors involved in this deal.

Headquartered in Yogyakarta, BroilerX was founded by Prastyo Ruandhito (CEO), Jati Pikukuh (CTO), and Pramudya Rizki Ruandhito (COO) since 2022. Previously they also received initial funding of $1,3 million led by Insignia Ventures Partners. In their debut, they have collaborated with 30+ breeder partners to serve 1000+ customers.

There are four main services presented by BroilerX. Firstly, the Smart Farming system provides IoT-based equipment to help farmers control and monitor environmental conditions, sometimes via applications. Second, they also provide integrated ERP services to digitize sales, inventory, manufacturing and HR management processes.

Third, BroilerX also opened partnership services for chicken farmers. The partners will be assisted with a livestock-based system smart farming and supporting solutions. Currently the partners involved are around Yogyakarta, Solo, Magelang, Purwokerto, Tegal, Pati, Madiun, Sidoarjo, Kediri and Malang.

Then the final service, BroilerX also provides a supply of live chickens with guaranteed quality from chickens cultivated with partner breeders; also fresh and frozen chicken carcasses that are certified halal.

Apart from that, towards the end of last year they also started testing LayerX and RabuX. LayerX is a program that aims to provide social impact to chicken farmers. Meanwhile RabuX is the company's dedication to developing a sustainable ecosystem. The initial commitment was to produce fertilizer from chicken manure and husks from used cages. This program has found pilot project in the Gunungkidul area, Yogyakarta.

BroilerX is not the only local startup trying to democratize the chicken farming system with a technological twist. A number of startups are also playing in this area, such as Pitik and Chickin. Pitik himself last has got $14 million series A funding led by Alpha JWC Ventures. Meanwhile Chickin has also been supported by initial funding from East Ventures.

The chicken meat commodity itself is quite popular in Indonesia. According to OECD-FAO data, consumption of chicken meat in Indonesia reached 7,9 kg per capita in 2020, which is expected to increase to 9,32 kg per capita in 2029.

The startups mentioned above are trying to be present to solve these issues with a modern approach, starting from automation to expanding market reach through digital channels.
