Alodokter Gets Series C Funding Of 468 Billion

Alodokter announced that it has secured a $33 million Series C funding round led by Sequis Life and participation from Philips, Heritas Capital, Hera Capital, Dayli Partners and several others. Previous investors, such as Softbank Ventures Asia and Golden Gate Ventures, participated in this funding round.

"The health system in Indonesia has undergone significant changes in the last 10 years, and is more open to digital innovation than the health system in developed countries. Indonesia is one of the leading countries in adapting the digital health system. That is one of the main factors that makes Alodokter develop super fast since it was first launched," explained CEO Alodokter Nathanael Faibis.

Currently Alodokter claims to have managed to get 20 million active users every month and has collaborated with 20.000 doctors and 1.000 hospitals and clinics. Some of Alodokter's excellent services such as chat with doctor, booking doctors, health information, and health insurance management.

The fresh funds obtained by Alodokter are planned to be used to expand the network of cooperation with hospitals and develop insurance services. Previously, in 2018 Alodokter introduced a health insurance called "Proteksi Alodokter". Policyholders can subscribe, pay, and process claims directly through the application.

Alodokter's plan is to build a "21st century insurance" that not only provides financial protection, but also guides patients on their medical journey by providing the right medical solutions.
