Not Affiliated with Traveloka, Pegipegi Focuses on Marketing Activities

Launched three variants of new features in the app

After being acquired by Jet Tech Innovation Ventures Pte Ltd (Jet Tech) in March 2018, the OTA . platform Pegipegi comes back with a variety of offers and achievement targets. Even though Jet Tech is affiliated with Traveloka, in terms of business everything is run independently without any direct relationship with Traveloka. Previously had reported, Traveloka which acquired Pegipegi.

"We can confirm that all Pegipegi businesses have nothing to do with Traveloka. The relationship with Traveloka only occurs with Jet Tech as the party that took over Pegipegi," said Pegipegi's Head of Business Development & Strategic Partnership Ryan Kartawidjaja.

Still focused on selling air tickets, trains and hotels; Pegipegi wants to launch more massive marketing activities this year by providing promotions for users, especially in the month of Ramadan.

Currently, Pegipegi is trying to increase the number of customers and at the same time increase cooperation with relevant partners. Pegipegi has also established a partnership with Kredivo, by providing the PayLater payment option.

"In this Ramadan period, we are cooperating with many people businesses from hotels, banks, and non-profit institutions to join together in the success of going home so that it brings many blessings to all Indonesian people."

Add features

To make it easier for users, Pegipegi launched several new features in the application. First, there is Online Check-In, making it easy for customers to avoid delays when check-in at the airport. Then there is Travel Insurance, providing protection for delays to personal accidents. If the customer ultimately needs to cancel the trip there is an Online Refund feature. And the last one is PayLater from Kredivo so it can pay off accommodation costs up to 12 months.

"After these new features, we will also continue to present other new and interesting features that are expected to make it easier for users to access the Pegipegi application," said Pegipegi Corporate Communications Manager Busyra Oryza.

Currently, application usage still dominates with 4 million downloads on Android and iOS. In 2019, it is hoped that Pegipegi can reach the target of new users up to three times. For Pegipegi users' favorite products, namely the purchase of airplane tickets and hotels, they still make a large contribution of more than 90%.

Asked whether Pegipegi will launch a product experience or activities that many similar OTA platforms have in Indonesia, Ryan was reluctant to mention further.

"In the near future we will also release a new product which is expected to complement the travel products in Pegipegi fundraising We don't have any plans to carry out these activities at this time," Ryan concluded.
