Legaltech Startup My Law Announces Seed Funding Led by East Ventures

Hukumku offers a digital platform for consultation and understanding regarding law

My law, startuplegaltech Local, which focuses on consulting and legal services, announced the acquisition of funding led by East Ventures. The amount and other investors involved in this round were not stated. Fresh funds will be allocated to accelerate product development and marketing, in line with the planned launch of Hukumku in November 2023.

This startup was born from the joint vision of Fritz Hutapea (CEO) who has more than 10 years of experience in the legal industry, Michael Jagadpramana (COO) with more than 5 years of experience in the startup ecosystem, and Glorio Yulianto (CMO) who is known for his deep track record at an advertising technology startup.

In the market legaltech Locally, a number of startups also offer similar services, including Justice (also a portfolio of East Ventures), LawOnline, LawGo, to Legalku. This sector does not yet have many players (or at least no one dominates it yet), because the market is still used to conventional business processes and models that have been running for years.

My law offers innovative solutions to introduce and revolutionize how legal services can be accessed. They developed a platform that connects users with curated attorneys. It also provides important information for users to find a lawyer that suits their needs – this information includes the lawyer's profile, practice license, area of expertise, location, as well as user ratings and reviews.

To make consumers satisfied, Hukumku wants to prioritize transparency by providing information about the prices of legal services to users, ensuring clear expectations for users.

"Our commitment is more than just serving users, Hukumku also focuses on opening lawyers' access to users and leveling the playing field. We are dedicated to increasing transparency, accessibility and affordability in the Indonesian legal industry," said Hukumku Co-Founder & CEO Fritz Hutapea.

For founder realizes that many Indonesians still have limited access to legal services when they need them most. This lack of accessibility is exacerbated by a lack of information and transparency, often giving rise to the misconception that legal consultations tend to be expensive and complicated. From the lawyer's side, they also face challenges in getting clients because competition is usually based on connections or referral.

My Law will present a breakthrough that includes a variety of services that make it a complete solution for legal needs in society. Apart from that, they will also offer educational content and free seminars covering various topics related to legal services and cases that are currently being discussed, thereby helping the public avoid wrong understanding and inaccurate information about the legal process.

"It is time for the legal industry in Indonesia to experience a technological revolution, and we are confident that Hukumku can offer legal solutions that are innovative and accessible to all Indonesian people. With a relevant and strong team background, we are confident that Hukumku will not only bridge the gap in legal services, "but also redefining how legal services are accessed and delivered in Indonesia. We hope to see various interesting news from Hukumku in the near future," said Co-Founder & Managing Partner of East Ventures Willson Cuaca.
