Bank Mandiri Releases Special Application for Micro Business Loans

The application cannot be downloaded publicly, only used by internal marketers

Bank Mandiri has released the Mandiri Pintar application (Uncomplicated Loans) specifically targeting micro-entrepreneurs. Through this application, credit application will only take about 15 minutes.

Bank Mandiri President Director Royke Tumilaar said this application was part of the company's innovation in boosting productive micro-credit in the midst of the pandemic. The submission process is much faster because customers do not need to be bothered with data and document requests.

The application is designed for Bank Mandiri's internal marketers so it cannot be downloaded by the public through the App Store or Play Store. Customers who need credit can contact so that the team will immediately visit them and submit them directly through the application.

Customers, continued Royke, also do not need to go to Bank Mandiri branch offices to apply for micro loans. Because, through this application, Mandiri's micro-marketers, which currently number more than 6.700 people spread throughout Indonesia, can process loans directly from the customer's location.

"Through this application, micro marketers can directly process credit applications via smartphones to customers in a faster time, which is only 15 minutes after marketers submit debtor data through Mandiri Pintar," said Royke in an official statement, yesterday (30/6).

In its development stage, Mandiri Pintar can only accept customers Existing to apply for a loan with a limit of Rp. 100 million. However, later the application will be expanded in scope to target new customers.

Since 2008, Bank Mandiri has disbursed KUR to approximately 1,65 million debtors with total loans reaching Rp97,65 trillion. In addition to KUR, during 2020, Bank Mandiri has also disbursed KUM (micro credit) to 301.453 debtors with a value of Rp. 13,2 trillion.

Accelerated digitization

The pandemic has made all companies accelerate the digitization process to make business more efficient and expand business coverage. Innovation from Bank Mandiri, of course, is not the only thing that Indonesian banks do to reach more new customers with a shorter process.

Previously, with a similar concept to BRI, the Brispot application was created. The application is specifically for marketers or BRI Mantri to process micro loans digitally without physical documents. Because it still prioritizes the concept of prudence, the credit distribution and assessment model from the bank is different from what is offered by banks player .

On the other hand, players and conventional financial institutions continue to strengthen cooperation through programs channeling and assessment to credit scoring or alternative scoring in distributing loans.

Some of these collaborations include, Investree with Bank Danamon, BRI Syariah and BRI, to loan channeling. Then, there is a similar collaboration between Akseleran and Mandiri Tunas Finance. Furthermore, Modalku and Bank Sinarmas which act as institutional lenders as well as BCA for loan channeling, and many more similar collaborations. For both parties, this model is mutually beneficial.
