Summarizing the dynamics of the industry, fintech players, to consumer perspectives for various services

Financial technology (fintech) is still a very popular business model in Indonesia. Business developments and product innovations that continue to be more interesting to observe.

Given the market dynamics and high interest in the business landscape, DSResearch released the annual report "Fintech Report 2019". Entitled "Moving Towards a New Era in Indonesia's Financial Industry", this report attempts to record the new trends generated fintech. While observing the adoption of various services in society – from payments, loans, to investments.

As in previous years, many things are highlighted in this report, including industry movements, players fintech up-to-date, and consumer perspectives. The point of view of service providers and users presented is expected to provide valuable knowledge for the ecosystem fintech Indonesia.

Some of the discussions summarized in the report include:

  • Fintech lending still continues to grow. This year there were 47 new players registered with the OJK. Meanwhile, the authorities also began to roll out the status of "business license" for p2p loans, 11 players have pocketed it.
  • This year's regulation on Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) was inaugurated by BI. It is considered to have a significant impact on the digital payment business.
  • Digital wallets (82,7%) into product category fintech the most popular according to respondents, continued investment (62,4%), paylater (56,7%), and p2p loans that accommodates personal needs (40%).
  • Gopay (83,3%) is still an app digital wallets most used this year. While Ovo (99,5%) is an application digital wallets which has awareness highest society.

Apart from the three points above, there are many other things that are summarized in the report. Including the role of investors in supporting fintech local, fintech startup funding trends, to surveys on services fintech favorites for various categories.
